Hi - I am considering a Gastric Sleeve and have attended a seminar at Weightwise.  Dr. Broussard presented and I immediately liked him and felt very comfortable with him.   Has anyone used him for a Sleeve or other surgery?   Any feedback - good, bad, or indifferent??

Thanks for taking the time to respond - this is a big decision and I want the best!

In my opinion... there is NO ONE better than Dr. Broussard!!! I love that man (yes, my husband is fully aware! LOL) He not only performed my sleeve surgery, but just a month ago took out my gall bladder as well! I trust him with my LIFE!!!! He is so kind, gentle and PASSIONATE about what he does! He TRULY understands the human body and how difficult it is for a person to lose weight. He is just amazing!!! As is the ENTIRE staff at Weightwise!!! I don't think you will hear anyone say anything bad about any of them. They are strict and you HAVE to be willing to make the changes... that should be a requirement anywhere, but at WEIGHTWISE they give you the tools and support necessary to do it!!!

I just love them all and can assure you that you will NOT be disappointed with ANYTHING if you follow their program, listen to them and utilize EVERYTHING they have to offer.

Best of luck to you and your sleeve!!!

Again I LOVE DR. B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs,
Angie

Cannot fault him at all! I had my surgery 5/09 and have almost lost 100lbs, with absolutely NO side effects. He might not 'wow' you with his Cajun speaking style but he's a helluva surgeon!

BEST THING YOU'LL EVER DO!!! BAR NONE!

Oh, heck, I even thought the Cajun accent was charming!

Dr. B won't sugar coat anything. He'll tell you what he knows about weight loss surgery and your specific situation. If you don't want honesty and commitment go elsewhere. I've known a few who consulted with him, but were put off by his straight forwardness, then went elsewhere. I think they may have occasionally regretted their decision, but I'm not going to speak for someone else. All I can say for me, I'm totally glad I had the sleeve (no malabsorption, no fills) and that I'm even more glad I had it at WW. Dr. B drove me crazy requiring more and more tests prior to surgery, kept me in the hospital three nights, and insisted on doing a second surgery to check for internal bleeding. As you can see by my ticker, I'm 8# from my target. I've not weighed this little since high school, maybe junior high. I din't believe it was possible and was prepared to "settle" when I hit 150. Now I truly believe that I can eat and live like this for the rest of my long life.

Good luck on your weight loss journey!

Dr. B is awesome! Like others have said, he will not sugar coat anything, he is very tell it like it is. With that he is very caring! You will make a good choice with this one!

1 1/2 year out, no problems, no issues, would do it again in a heart beat!

Best of luck to you!

I completely agree with everyone above!  I just love Dr. B...he doesn't sugarcoat anything and expects you to follow his program to a T, and if you do not, he will let you know and get you back on track, respectfully, but suggestively enough to get you right on again.  He hasn't had to do that for me, but I know someone he has and she got right back in line!  LOL  He is very sweet and caring for his patients.  I can't wait to go back to my 6 week appt next week to show him I've lost almost 30lbs since my surgery date.  Everyone at WW is very encouraging and uplifting during your visits and I would recommend WW and Dr. Broussard to ANYONE I meet who is considering weight loss surgery.  Best of luck hun, you're making the right decision.  :)

I highly recommend Dr. B as well.   I also had a gastric sleeve, and have had absolutely no complications.  I appreciate his no holds barred style.   If you want success go with Dr. B....if you want someone who shoots you straight and tells you what you need to do to...he's your guy.

I love him as my Dr. and his program is great!!!!  Whatever Dr. you end up choosing....do what the Dr. says and don't try to re-invent the wheel.   Listen and do!!!!!!!.
