Dr. Sawan appt and 360 lift scheduled
I had my appt with Dr. Sawan and love him and the office staff. I have a body lift 360 scheduled for October 28th in Edmond at the weight wise hospital...summit now I think. Anyway, for those of you that have been down this road please tell me how long it took you to bounce back. I am really active and don't want to have too much down time because I worry that I will start eating again. He said he thought I could go back to work half days or light duty by week three. I think Russell said that is what he did too.

HEY LADY!!!
I am soooo excited for you!!!! I don't have any PS stories... yet, but plan to get with Dr. Sawan in the near future and will hopefully have the 360 sometime in the spring...
I have a couple of questions for you though... Does he require wt maint for any length of time prior to operation? How far are you from your final goal? What kind of guidelines did he give you between now and the time of your operation?
I am just starting to think about PS and can't WAIT to get rid of this burlap bag hanging around my waist!
Best of luck to you! Keep in touch!

48lbs lost PRE-OP - LBL on 3/24/2011 -- 11lbs of skin removed!
I had heard the Dr. Sawan will tell you straight up if he thinks you need to lose more weight. I honestly forgot to ask him but he didn't tell me I needed to lose anymore. I had two previous consultations with other surgeons that both told me I don't need to lose anymore because I won't lose it where I need to lose it and that what I have needs to be cut off. I was told my skin could weigh up to 15 lbs. I would like to end up at 150....144 would be a dream. I am 163 now so I am going to work on getting 5 to 10 lbs off before October 28th when my surgery is. No guidelines for between now and surgery.

I am goin in for my last PS on the 20th of this month and I am supper excited that I will no longer have tube sox boobies!

I am so excited for you. Hope you had a good consult with Dr. Sawan, I think that he is pretty awesome at what he does and every thing should go great for you. I will be honest the first week will be a little painful and don't try to be tough and use the good stuff they will give you for pain and the next thing you know there will be no pain. The next thing to get used to will not being able to stand up straight for a few weeks while eveything moves to its new place of business. So congrats on your new journey!!! If you think of any questions that I can answer let me know and I will try.
Russell
P.S. How is your husband doing with his sleeve, Hope its all good.

Russell, I told Dr. Sawan what you said about being tight as a tiger and he laughed and said he thought you were great.
I'm glad you said that about the pain meds because I am one not take them...have no idea why I do that but I do. I will be sure to fill the RX and stay on top of it.
How long before you were able to go to the gym? Seems like you said 4 weeks but I can't remember. He said I could begin running Jan 2nd to train for the marathon which is about 8 weeks after surgery....do you think that is realistic? i know surgeons sometimes tend to under estimate the healing time.
Randy is doing so awesome! I'm so proud of him. We still have a couple of weeks until he is completely out of the woods for any kind of leak risk. So far so good though. He gets to eat mushies on Wed!

I followed Dr. Sawans advice on working out and I think it was at least 4 or 5 weeks before I got to crazy. I think that training 8 weeks out sounds very realistic.
My wife, Becky is also doing awesome she has already dropped 20 lbs since surgery and 40 since intial consult and is looking great. I am trying to get used to a new wife. She is almost to start her second week on mushies. It is funny, for her first meal I fixed her a cheese omlet and she thought it was the best thing that she had ever eaten.

Tell Becky that she isdoing awesome!! Randy is also down 41 since his intital consult. I might have to try that cheese omlet for Randy this week. Its really great to have us both on the same page. It makes it hard to stick to healthy eating/living when you are the only one in the house doing it. I'm thrilled for us to be able to have this in common. Thanks for all the advice!!
