Yikes! Tomorrow is Sleeve Day!!!
Tomorrow at 8:45, Dr. Broussard is going to yank out most of my stomach. Only after he spends a couple of hours undoing my previous fundoplication surgery. Been on liquids all day and suddenly this restrictive diet I've been on for weeks sounds pretty good. I've been complaiing about salad and Salmon but they sound pretty dang good right now. Only 14 more days until the mushies and I'm already fantasizing about how good they will be. My anxiety is definitely present but I'm more calm about tomorrow than I expected to be at this point. I'm trying not to allow the "what if" thinking and just trust Dr. B, Dr. Walton, and most importantly God! I can't second guess whether I'm making the right decision after tomorrow - it will be too late. It is a bit for my little mind to handle to realize I'll never wolf down a large pizza in one sitting again. But, it is easy to wrap my mind around no more CPAP, less or no blood pressure meds, and a healthier longer life with my family. Amy (my wife) lost 185 in the past two years since her sleeve so I have a long way to catch up. Move over Amy, here I come!
That is so exciting! It's great to have a spouse who has gone through WLS already and knows what you'll be going through. My hubby had RNY a couple of years ago and has been my rock! Our spouses can be our greatest allies or our worst enemies and, luckily, it sounds like you and I have some good ones!
Good luck and a speedy recovery!
Pam
