Leak Test, radioactive
Hey gang, had my pre-op appt today and meant to ask when I have the leak test after surgery. For you Weightwise, sleevers out there. Was it the day after? When were you able to get ice chips?
Also, had a nuclear stress test last friday and they told me I would be radioactive for 60 hours, but would be detectable in the airport security for 30 days. Do you think the radioactive lingers will be okay for surgery?

Jenny, I don't recall ever having a leak test. Call or email your patient advocate. She'll get you an answer. I had my nuclear test about 40 days prior to my surgery. Maybe that was the reason it took so long - Dr. B. didn't want to glow! o
I don't remember anything 'til after I was out of recovery. In fact, my first memory is sitting in a chair. Forget ice chips, they started giving me water and walking right away. No catheter, you're supposed to get up to pee, too.
Good luck! I'm so glad I had it done.

Miss Rita !!!! You look fabulous. You know you are the very first person I came into contact when I went to weightwise. I came on a weekend just wondering in to get some information and you were very helpful. You lead me to obesityhelp.com. I went home and signed in that very day. I am grateful for your kind words and information that day. Looks like you are doing very well. I will be up there next week for my surgery. THanks for the leak info.
