Amy had her turn, now it is my turn!

Hello all.    Many of you know my beautiful wife "DebtFree" aka Amy!   Amy had VSG almost two years ago in Edmond by Dr. Broussard and has lost 180+ pounds (Don't remember the exact number).  She is out of town this week riding from the Texas border to Joplin, MO (over 400 miles) on her bike.  I have sat on the couch eating cheetos way too long and now I'm ready to get started.  I saw Dr. B last week and the number scared me.  Just 10 pounds short of 300 pounds and he used the "morbidly obese" term.  Couldn't they make these terms more pallatable like type A, Type B, etc.?  :-)  I wasn't sure I was a candidate since I had a fundoplication surgery in 2008 and it was an open surgery.  But Dr. B told me my options and I left encouraged.  Wednesday I go to my dietary, exercise and psych appointments.  He also wants to do an EGD to look at my fundoplication wrap himself.  I've already started dieting so I can lose my presurgery weight.  No sense in putting it off any longer.  I'd love to hear from some of Amy's friends and make new ones of my own on here.  I know how much the blogs helped her and if I can just do 20% of what she has done, I'll be a huge success.

Well, Amy's number one fan better get some sleep now.  Busy day at work tomorrow.

Go Randy Go !!!!

Losing weight with or without the surgery is a focused struggle. You have the best of both worlds, you have seen it's sucess and you also have the best support partner at home to bounce your concerns. Good luck on your appointments. Easy breezy.

Go Randy Go!!!!!  This time you are going to be the one inspiring others!  This is YOUR time. This is YOUR moment in the sun!!  Woo-hoo!!

The hardest part anyone will tell you is losing the pre surgery weight.  Once you have your WLS you have the help you need but right now its hard.  Just don't give up.  You can do it!!!!

OMG!  Too funny!!!  I guess two of us in the same household using the same computer is going to get confusing when posting on this message board. The comment that looks like it was from Randy was from me -Amy, to my husband Randy.  He wasn't posting a reply to his own post! ha ha!!!-Amy
