Got a date!!!
Congrats on getting your surgery date...it will be here before you know it.
The 2 weeks before surgery and the weeks following are a gift to yourself. Don't think of what you are giving up, think of what you are getting....a healthier life, less or no joint/back pain, fewer if any meds, reduction or elimination of co-morbidities. You've come this far...you can do anything for two weeks.
I sat down and made out a list of the things I had stopped doing or had given up because of my weight. It really helps put things in perspective.
Have enough supplements, broth, jello or whatever for the first week after surgery...but try not to buy large containers of anything. You tastes are probably going to change a few times after the surgery.
Good luck!!!

Congrates on getting your date set. I live in Yukon and had my surgery on 2-24-10 with Dr. Broussard. I am thrilled that I did this as you will be also. I know the liquid diet sounds horrible to you but I know you can do it and it will shrink you liver and make the surgery earier for the doc. I have lost 43 pounds and and 22 inches. Amazing. I will support you in any way that I can and will be sending you positive thoughts. Just don't buy a lot of one thing because your taste will probably chanage after surgery ( I can no longer drink water and have to use some kind of flavoring. ) Good luck and keep us posted. Marion
