Hey! I'm Holly...
I'm a surgery newbie. I've been an OH member/lurker for a while.
My surgery was 2/16/10. I weighed 298 that day.
I weighed today at 285.5.
The day of the seminar I weighed 317.
I had to do the six month diet bs. I only lost about 17lbs.
Total loss at this point 31.5lbs.
Still recovering from surgery. Everyday is a challenge.
I'm taking it one day at a time.

I am also a Newbie and in the process of doing the required 90 days that my Insurance Company requires prior to surgery.  I try to come on here daily and usually just lurk but it really motivates and educates me on the RNY.  I've completed the PT Class, the first Nutritionest Class, I've been to a couple of Support Group Meeting and am just getting more and more excited w/ each day.  I'm hoping to have the RNY in June, w/ Dr. Keith and just trying to get myself to start eating right now and that has been the biggest struggle mentally because I know I won't be able to have most of these things once I have the surgery.

BTW Patti you looked beautiful in the Show - I was really impressed how nice it was...

thank you! it was fun doing it..nerve wacking but we had alot of fun... for me it was a tear jerking moment I got to see the folks ii mentored..and see how far they came....It inspired me to do better.
I lived the post op life prior to surgery for like 3 or 4 months it teruly helped me afterwards....
You should attend a satllite meeting and the saturday face to face meeting you will learn a lot

I had my FIRST WOW moment today!! I was going through clothing I had in my closet looking for something to wear to take my son to the recruiters and saw a pretty sun dress I had bought through "Holy Clothing" (LOVE their clothes!) and wondered if I could fit into it....I COULD!! I tried another one on and though it was still a bit tight through the upper chest area it FELL down over my stomach instead of getting caught on my big belly!! I could also wear my wedge cork shoes that I haven't been able to put on in nearly three years!!

Yeah...I'm sold! I did the right thing. hehe

Well thank you! You can ask Kim and Renea I just KNEW I had made a mistake!! I was sure I'd ruined my life and body and having to give up actual EATING for over a MONTH!! No way!!

But, exercising and seeing the results. It's soo worth it! I do still crave food, don't get me wrong, but with the results and getting more fit and trim, it's so worth it to forgo that cheese burger and fries! hehe It's the bigger picture I just have to keep my eye on!

*hugs* I can't wait to see you in your fringed cover!! Post pics!!
