mary, i was scheduled for oct 5.. notified all my clients. cooked broth and such had everything planned for a 6 weeks I would be out AND then bam! I was told I had h ploroi and my surgery would be postponed till I tested negative. Like you I was devasted. Took the nasty meds got retested came back negative was rescheduled for the 11/5....
Thought I would be in and out and back to work by the middle of december...NOT I lost 4 pints of blood the day after surgery had to have a blood transfusion..then the wednesday before turkey day i was told i had mrsa and that monday i would be in the or and would be there every day for 7 days..thank God it was only 3 days and i was rushed out of the hospital because of my immune system and folks coming in with the flu...since then I have had 9 other surgeries..lost all but a few clients...
But would I do it again Yes. there is a reason you are having to wait....try living the post op life during this time including christmas...cause next year you will be living it and cant even think of trying the goodies....
good luck to ya! and if ya need to talk..email me

being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
Well, I with everyone else. Rant, rave, scream, cry. At times, I thought also I was NEVER going to get that freakin surgery!!!! GEZ, I did the same rantin' and ravin'. But, even though times seems to creep along now, it will happen for you. Like Mary said, it isn't a no, just not right now. Feel fortunate your doctor wants to make sure you are in as good health as possible before he operates on you. Some doctors don't give a care. There is a guy on the men's forum that was ON THE TABLE IN THE SURGERY ROOM, and the doctor called off his surgery because he realized that he hadn't had a cardiac clearance. Gez, that stopped my whining! Hang in there. It will happen. Michael
My surgery was scheduled for Aug. 20, 2007. I got to the hospital very early in the morning and at the admitting desk found out my surgery had to be postponed because there was an instrument needed that wasn't available. I was devastated and extremely upset but about a week later I was rescheduled for Aug. 31. I had to do the five day liquid diet twice---I wasn't very happy about that. I heard of another person who actually was in the OR and they discovered she had a cat scratch so her surgery was postponed due to the possibility of infection.
