When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." Erma Bombeck

Congrats and buckle that seat belt. You are in great hands. Remember your chapstick you WILL want it after surgery especially while waiting for teh blue ice test. Sorry I forgot to look are you having RNY or band or sleeve? Anyway if you need an angel let me know. OWLO angel program is post ops that come and visit with you and your family on your surgery day. I try to get there before you go in and see if there is any last minute questions you feel like asking someone who has been where you are and sit with your family till they come and tell them you are in recovery and doing well.

I am having the RNY.  Thanks for the chapstick tip. I will be sure to bring some. I have been trying to not think about the surgery, it just makes the time go so slowly. But today I got a letter from Dr. Keiths office talking about my preop diet class and my preop labs and all that stuff and I went into a little bit of a panic attack. The times of when I was supposed to be there had changed and I have already booked clients for those days. I know all I really need to do is call my clients   and reschedule them but at the time I just freaked out! LOL I had to call  my mom and she talked me thru it and showed me that I was getting all bent out of shape over something that is no big deal. Thank God for mothers! Anyway, I have a feeling that as the day draws nearer I will have a few more melt downs. I have been praying that I dont take it out on my family.
Well that was quite an earful that I am sure you werent expecting...lol.
How far out are you? How long did it take for you to return to work? I took 4 weeks off. I hope its enough. Thanks for listening to me rant! ~~~Mary~~~

I over packed myself all I really needed was slippers, chapstick, personal hygiene, loose comfy clothes for the  trip home and the chapstick but bring what you feel you want and dont forget your breathy thing. As for ranting hun that is what we are here for. I didnt work but 4 weeks should be plenty of time. by about day 10-12 I was back to doing most of my normal activities just no heavy lifting. I am 13 months out and have lost 205 pounds from my start weight of 407. Yes moms are great tho I had to talk here through it at the hospital till then she had kept me cool then that morning it went in to the hospital and I was totally calm and ready for it, she started fretting. lol  Anytime you feel the need to melt down come on here and we will do our best to talk you though as ones who have been there done it. Hugs  Sarah
