post op ?'s
I am five days out and doing good on the liquids. What are some different things you all had your first 2 weeks? Can i have protien shakes or just the protien water? I am thinking that as time goes on it is going to be harder and harder to be on the liquids if I don't have a variety of things i can have??
Also, Did anyone else have problems with getting cramps in there feet and legs? They aren't bad cramps, just alittle bothersome sometimes. It is mainly in the calfs' and bottom of the feet?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi.
During my first 2 weeks, I had homemade beef broth and homemade chicken broth, strained, of course. I had a little sugar-free jello, but my tummy prefered hot things. I had a few sugar-free popsicles. I sipped water constantly. I enjoyed caffeine-free hot tea. When I felt a bit weak, I drank some Isopure Grape, which is high in protein. You can have some protein shake, if nothing else seems to satisfy and you're feeling a bit weak.
I'm not a doctor, and you should call Dr. Walton (he will NOT mind), but the cramps may be from not taking in enough water or it may be that your potassium level is a bit low. Again, you should call Dr. Walton, or at least call the nurses at the hospital. Someone will help you.
Hang in there. You're doing great, and pretty soon you'll be able to eat more satisfying foods.
Make sure you're walking a bit, inside at least, every hour you're awake.
Blessings,
Mary

I think with WW you have to do "clear" liquids for the first two weeks...Broth, G2, Popsicles, tea... I don't know that if you do have anything thicker if your tummy will like you very much...Hang in there girl, you just have a little bit longer to food. Don't forget to take your vitamins and get those liquids in! Don't get dehydrated and have to go back to the hospital...Drink it up! Vodka doesn't count!! :) LOL
