Its over
Well, I had my surgery yesteday. I am still sitting here in the hospital, doing good for the most part. I have been having I guess gas pains in my back and chest. They said that was normal. As for the incisions they are not that sore. I was having a terrible time with nausea and dry heaving, but that seems to have gone away. Now i'm just sitting her at 7;08 in the morning just waiting around..lol Hopefully I will be going home this morning. Soooooo, lets make room on that loser bench !!!
Welcome to the bench!!! What a brave woman doing it right before Thanksgiving :)...I did mine right before my birthday; wouldn't trade this feeling for all the bday cake in the world!! I know the sick feeling too, I had the same thing! Don't forget to rest as much as possible, you will be tired more than anything, but you will do great!!!

I hope you are home and doing well. I had the same problem with pain and nausea. Mostly my problem was the drinking my fluids and getting to know my new tummy. I found warm fluids: broth, hot decaf tea and coffee, and even warm sf jello works well. Good luck. I will look forward to seeing the great results.
yay for you. I had my surgery on Monday...and I was just sitting around, also, waiting to get out. I was so restless...couldn't sit still..Also had the nausea but actually did vomit...hence the doc sent me home with some anti nausea meds.
I was restless when I got home too...couldn't sit still, couldn't get comfortable...but then realized what was making me restless was the pain...go figure...I take the pain meds before bedtime and do get some rest. So ...other than that...I have been busy busy...feeling better everyday, like they predicted.
Having trouble ingesting all the liquids and proteins they want you to get into you....
So preparing Thanksgiving dinner fo 15 people was not a temptation AT ALL...
Best of Luck to you!!!

Congrats to you! I am so excited for you! Spending Thanksgiving in the hospital must suck, but I would think it would be better than sitting around a table full of food that you cant eat. My husband's cousin had WLS the 17th and she tried to eat Thanksgiving food and of course it got stuck and she spent most of the meal throwing up after that. Anyway Im sure you needed to know that! LOL Before you know it you will be home and feeling great! Congrats again ya loser! ;)
