This is my first official post. I'm more of a lurker. :) I just finished my six month diet with my doctor. I have cigna so hopefully we got everything they wanted together. Dr. Nelsons office will be submitting all my stuff this week. So keep me in your thoughts or prayers or keep your fingers crossed for me. I really want to have the surgery. I've tried everything just about to loose weight like most everyone so this is really a last option. I'm right at 300lbs. so I have about 150lbs to loose. I only lost about 15lbs during the six month diet...but it's a start right? I'll keep you updated as soon as I know.

Hi, Holly.
I bet those 6 months of a supervised diet seemed like such a long time, but now you're at the end and ready for the next step. Congratulations! May I ask what surgery you're pursuing? You're in my prayers. :)
Blessings,
Mary

I started at over 300 so I understand where you are.  You have done great with your loss.  15 lbs is nothing to sneeze at.  It gets so much easier once you have your WLS.

Holly,

I started at 315...I'm now down to 200.  You can do it.  I had to wait six months on my insurance also, (I have BCBS of Texas) and they approved it almost as soon as that six months was over.  It was only a matter of days.  You can do it, and you will be amazed at how quickly the weight falls off.  Good luck!

Hugs,
Marsha

Stick with this board for lots of support. You can do this...It is not easy and even afterwards it's not easy, but you sound determined so keep this attitude! Time will fly by...I worried that I would gain over all the Holidays...but I cleared them all and had my surgery in February. You are in for a wonderful ride. Like I said don't hide out...Post away!. Stick with this group. Do keep us informed on your progress.

Hi Holly~

Glad to see you posting instead of just lurking =) and hope to see you continue to post more.  I'm Renae and I'm a 5+ year post-op of RNY.  If you have any questions at any time, I'd be glad to help you out.  I started out at just over 300 lbs as well and have come quite a long ways since then (have lost 170 lbs, give or take a few at different times when it fluctuates in a 5-10 lbs range)~ I know the surgery will help you wonderfully, as well =)  My fingers are crossed for you that you've crossed all the hurdles your insurance wants you to cross and now you can get your date.  Keep us posted on things!

Thanks to everyone for being so nice I appreciate it. I tallked to the lady at Dr. Nelsons office and they are still waiting on some paperwork from one of my doctors about my sleep apnea before they submit it to the insurance company. I am hoping to get the RNY. I know a lot of people who have been successful with it, even after years they have still kept the weight off. It's hard for me to chase after my almost 2year old being this weight and only 5'3. lol. I will try to be more involved since everyone on here seems so nice. Thanks so much for your support. It's awesome and exciting.
