OT---UPDATE
As y'all know, Dessie & I decided to stay here in Roland, and was trying to buy a small house here. Still didn't have a job, but Midland Mtg in OKC said they liked my interview and was trying to find a place for me. I applied for a couple of other jobs here, and decided to leave it in God's hand, and would take whoever called first. Was willing to travel to OKC and stay there during the week and come home on weekends, but have done that before a long time ago, and it's hard. Plus being away from my family just makes my heart hurt. But, in these times, you do what you gotta do. Anyway an agency I applied with here called for an interview, and the day after my interview they called me to offer me the position!!! It was my 14 years at the Housing Authority, dealing with low income rental assistance that got me the job. It is a brand new program from the gov. that helps people from becoming homeless (due to hard times and getting evicted from their rental) and helps the homeless getting into a place. I was told I was hired as a case manager, but also found out on my first day I am the program director. I question my "smartness" to do this, but I be tryin! I am responsible for getting the program up and running. We will be funded Nov.1st, but so much to do. We are also responsible for a total of 6 counties, so I will be traveling the surrounding 6 counties. It is really exciting and a great challange. There are some that just want a hand-out, but it is so great to see someone get on their feet. This program is designed though to find out what's going on with them, get them other help, plus among other things, they will also be required to attend a budgeting class with the agency I am working for. The "God thing" is that Midland Mtg. called me to offer me a position about 3 hours after I accepted the job here. Our loan fell through on our house because of our short sale with the FHA mtg. on the home in Ft. Smith. We thought we totally lost it and were sick, as the owner put in $25,000 worth of improvements to the house. A couple of days ago, he offered to owner finance it, and we will get permanent financing in about 3 to 4 years. We move next week! Kate is getting her baby bump and the little one is kicking. One of our dogs had his head on her belly, and you could see R'Rhiana trying to kick his head off. Due in Jan, which will be here before we know it. Don't know why everyone keeps saying that I'll be crying when she is born. They don't know me! As always, I love y'all. Michael
I was so hoping you were moving to OKC, but God is in control and has designed this job for you! Congratulations!! Yes, Jan. will be here before you know it and you will be one proud grandfather! I can't wait for you and Dessie to experience that!! It is magical!!
Again congrats on both events in your life!

Hi, Michael.
It's so nice to hear from you. What a blessing, to read of so many good things happening for you and your family, seemingly all at once. There will always be trials, but it sure looks like you've learned the key, lean on the Lord.
Blessings,
Mary

Muffin! I'm so excited for you! Look at all this fabulous news in one post. The job sounds great. You will do a wonderful job since you will bring such heart to it. Do you counties include Oklahoma county? Maybe we'll see you? Really glad about the house too. I know that is a relief and a load off your mind.
Congrats on the baby too. Can't wait to see the mushy posts from you after that!
Hi to Dessie and Momma Muffin!

Hi to Dessie and Momma Muffin!
Thanks. The 6 counties are the surrounding counties around Ft. Smith. Coming in next Sunday for my neice's daughter's first birthday. And, what mushy posts? I told Kate I will be called Grandfather Sir!! She doesn't seem to take me serious though. I can't understand why. She is already ordering me around, telling me that I WILL be taking the girl a rose at school every year on Valentine's Day. Kind of made me feel good though, because from kindergarten to senior in high school, I took Kate a rose to her school, so if she wants me to do that for R'Rhiana, I guess that was a big impression on Kate and really meant something to her. Go figure.
