FOOD that is!!! I didn't think it would be this hard, but now that I am dealing with something besides the day to day stresses, I want to EAT!!! I want to EAT carbs sooo bad! I have snuck a bite or two of pasta here and there, but nothing major. I always write it, if I bite it... But today, I was really dealing with some BS at work and found myself standing at my fridge as soon as I walked in the door. Just like old times. My DH was eating... BAKED ZITI of all things (a favorite from my former life) and I just had to have a bite. I ate a bit and then felt horrible, mainly guilty. I thought I found ways of coping with stress, but obviously isn't not as easy as I thought.

Any ideas on what to do to get past this. I thought I was craving carbs and found myself wanting to graze because of TOM dropping in this week...

Any help/support you can provide would be appreciated. Right now I am feeling like a failure!

Thanks,
Angie

Its been said a thousand times but still we try to change it they do surgery on our tummys NOT on our heads and our heads are conditioned to the habits that got us in the shape we were to start with. You are not a failure for feeling this way or sneaking a bite or two as long as you realize what you are doing and do your best to control it and we are here for you!

Go take a long walk around the blocked. Do some deep breathing and think about how great you are going to feel in the near future.

Best of luck, they say it gets much better. Hang in there.

Angie,

I've found positive affirmations are very helpful in changing my thinking.  Listen to tapes/CD's of Tony Robbins, he speaks of "incanting" negative things in our heads, because we repeat bad things to ourselves in our thoughts all the time and that if we change what we're telling ourselves, we can change our lives.   I'm a true believer.  I hope this helps you too.

Angie,
I am blunt so be prepared. You are an addict. One is to many and a thousand is never enough....that one bite should never have happened. THrow out the pasta and if hubby wants it..he can go to fazzolis.
Your honeymoon period is 18 months...thats when dropping the weight is the easiest. SO my dear chick-a dee. Ask your self this. Did you just have major surgery to rearrange your guts just to stay obesed???
Then write yourself a letter why you had surgery.
keep it close put it on the fridge...
When you start having head hunger..go for a walk..drink a glass of water and wait 30 minutes afterward and if you are still wanting to chew..get some jerky and chew away...learn to chew oh healthy stuff instead of the pasta..
Lesson on pasta...90% of the pasta that is sold in stores is not  nutritonanal..its empty carbs that increase the waist....when pasta was orginally made 1000 of years ago it was to stretch the meat and veggies that was on hand. Society made it a dish and it has went from being a filler to a main dish and with that increasing the waist line...
You can have pasta later on and when you do make it whole wheat or spagetti squash...and if its whole wheat do not buy enriched thats just a fancy word to say its white flour(which has been bleached and has no nutritonal value). Use whole wheat...I make cookies using whole wheat graham flour..its not a fine flour like white but makes great cookies and give me fiber....If you need help on cooking stuff for you buzz me I am here always for ya....you are not alone
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
