Has anyone ever done Jazzercise?  I'm thinking of joining and wondering if I'm crazy!!!  I need to get back into a solid exercise routine and thought this might be fun.  Anybody have any thoughts?

Thanks!  I enjoy reading about everyone's journey and amazing success!

I was a Creative Aerobic instructor at the WMCA  in Bethany and loved it! It is pretty much the same thing. I love music and dancing so it was a perfect class to take and teach. My problem now is I have to watch out for ankles and knee's and OLD stuff like that.  I think you'd enjoy it as long as you pace yourself. Try to get into a beginner class to start out.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

One of my fears is not being able to keep up.  They assure me that there are all levels of fitness in each class and that I'll be fine.  I sure hope so.  I don't want to embarrass myself!

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!  Maybe this will help bust my belly fat!

When I started, I  got at the back of the class for the same reason. There were many, who didn't have a dancing bone in their bodies, but they were moving and that's all that matters. It is a learn as you go thing and trust me, everyone is trying to watch the teachers feet and what she is doing so you will do fine. I am quite sure you will catch on quick....
I am in the same boat....the scales won't budge and I had to do something to get this going again. I have started going to the gym again and made it 3.5 miles in 16 min. I am doing strengthing stuff too so maybe it will begin moving again. The last lbs are the worst, but I have been sitting at this one spot for alllllllllllllooooong time!

Let us know about it!

I've been stuck since March.  It was a true plateau for a couple of months and I was doing all the right things.  So I got sick of it and started playing with it and romancing the carbs and so I deserve what I'm getting now.  It's a lifelong struggle for me, surgery or not so I just have to live with it.

Thanks for the encouragement!  I've gotta get this carcas moving!!!

First off let me say WOW Kim you look GREAT! I did jazzercise way back when it started and even as the fat kid in class I was able to do it. another one you might try if you are worried about the impact level is water aerobics.

Momma you look spectacular!  You are such an inspiration!  I haven't posted much because I frankly don't feel I can be of much help when I'm sorta struggling myself.  But I lurk and see all of your success and I'm proud of you.  (even while I turn a little green with envy!!)

Not too worried about impact at this point since I've been lucky and don't have any knee, hip or ankle issues.  Although I guess once I start dancing around I may create some!  Crossing my fingers on that one!

Thanks for the encouragement - it's like rain in the desert!  (or is that dessert?  hmmmmm, wonder why I'm stuck...!!!)

I need to do some soul cleansing myself here since you praised me. The resident cook around here. ( All three trailers of family combine cooking and grocery shopping so it helps especially with as little as I eat) well he was gone taking care of his mom for several months so Jeannie and I had really gotten into the cooking healthier deal but he WILL not do so he wants it all friend or covered in some yummy concoction and has even been making bread and cake and YES I have been slipping on my carbs alot the past week and I have been emotionally eating as well. So I have actually gained a couple pounds back. But I am so close to gaol that I am trying to get back on track myself. I have started cooking at home again. and making sure I take a high protien snack such as almonds or cheese sticks with me when I run so I am not tempted to do the fast food thing when I am out and about. But Kim hunny we can do this I WILL be at goal when I go back for my 1 year anniversary 11-12-09 is actually afterwards by a couple days but that is when the doc could see me for it. I want each of you to hold me accountable for it too!!!!

I did Jazzercise in the past, and it is a lot of fun - not hard to keep up with once you get used to the routines. Where did you find Jazzercise classes? I have been looking, but I haven't come across any in my area!

I'm going to the one in Edmond at 2nd and Bryant.  I got a post card in the mail and they're doing a 12-week plan where they monitor your results, you get one visit with the nutritionist and one visit with a trainer.  It's $50 to register and that includes all of October.  Then it's $39 each month after that with no contract.  (you can quit any time as long as you let them know before the 15th of the month - that's a big deal as I didn't want to be locked in in case I hated it)

You should join me!  You get as many classes a week as you want and they have 64 a week.  I'll probably do the one at 5:45 in the evening on weekdays.  Whatcha think?
