Day 4 Post surgery
Hi-
Thanks for the previous advice. Since my stomach swelling has come down, swallowing liquids has become much easier. The vommiting has stopped and the pain has decreased greatly so I haven't tried to take any since. Question-I am suffering thru diarreha not terrible or anything, it just comes unannounced, it that to be expected. Since my diet is liquid, it is liquid too. Also is normal to dream about and crave food, lol. I am guessing this is what they call mental hunger. I hope I can make it another week and a half without solid food. Can weight to get on a scale tomorrow? You guys have a great week and may God bless you!

Hi Bob:
Glad you are feeling better and seeing improvement! good for you! You'll be dropping pounds like crazy here in the next couple weeks and you'll be SO excited! We're excited for you!!
Yep, that diarrhea thing is just that--you haven't had anything solid for awhile yet it's not liquid enough to pass in urine so that's what you get for the next couple weeks. At least it's not every day (right?). This too, shall pass. If you were a normal BM every day person you'll find that you won't be like that anymore, probably. At least that's what it's made me.
I never dreamt about food but the craving thing did happen for a couple weeks, until I could get to the normal food stage, and then found out it wasn't as good as I'd remembered it was! I LOVED that! It's still that way for me. I don't crave any food but find that my mouth has a bland almost weird taste to it every day so I keep hard candies around for that and it helps.
Keep on working that sleeve and you'll be a success sooner than you think!!

Bob: Sounds like you're going thru some normal stuff. Had some diarreha, and still do. My first week was confusing because of the swelling and air. I couldn't tell if I was full from the liquids or in pain. I thought if this is what it is going to feel like, I want it reversed. I believe it was the sixth day, and I felt like a new person. The bloated feeling was 75% better and got better every day. Dreamed of food during my 2 weeks? OH YEAH, several times. First one I dreamed a big steak, the second like 3 sandwiches, then I woke up and went into a full panic. It was such a real dream, I thought I was going to have to wake up my wife to rush me to the emergency room because my stitches would bust any second from all the food I consumed. I was so mad because I screwed up BIG TIME in the first frickin week!!! It took me a few minutes to realize it was only a dream. I posted the same question, and several people over on the men's board has the same type of dreams. Blessing back at ya, Bob. Michael
Hey BOB! Welcome to the loosers bench. You are doing GREAT! I had diarrhea for about a two weeks post op as well. I even called Dr. B. one evening about it as I was starting to get concerned something wasn't right or my gall bladder was starting to act up. He told me that I need to make sure I am getting enough liquids in as diarrhea will increase the opportunity for dehydration. Other than that, I can take imodium as directed and should be fine. I did take imodium a time or two, but in the end (haha) it all went away when I went to mushy foods... Then I got constipated. It actually was quite funny. Here I was preparing to take a dose of miralax, hadn't even cracked the seal, I was just READING the instructions, then gurgle, I had to run to the bathroom, had diarrhea again for 2 days and have been regular since. Thank goodness!
Sorry if that was TMI, but what you are going through, I think is COMPLETELY normal. With all the bugs going around, it is possible that it is just a stomache bug that got us for a few days!
Hang in there and be sure and keep us posted!
God bless you too!
