i had lap rny on march 26th of this year. i tpped the scale at 360lbs the day of surg and have lost a total of 110lbs. I was in a size 5x and could not wear jeans because they didnt have any that wold fit me. I am now in a size 22-24 depending on the cut and wear a loose size 3x scrubs(i have to be commfy for work) I have lost 2 shoe sizes and 5 ring sizes. I can wear size 2x t-shirts. I still have 80lbs to lose till my goal wt but will get there soon. I have had 1 prob post op but other than that my dr said I was a poster child for wls. I had a small stricture in July causeing food to get stuck at the opening of my tummy. I was off all pain pills 1 week post op. My entire life has changed 100%. I can do so much more now than I could 6 mths ago.

I had to VSG 15 months ago.  I started at 301 and a size 26, and now I am 155 and a size 10.  WHO KNEW!?!?!  I wouldn't change it for the world!! I would like to lose 15 more pounds, and may start a liquid diet for a week or so to jump start that process.  ??? what do you think?

My goal this week was to become involved again on this site, so this is the perfect opportunity!  I had lap band surgery in August, 2008.  To date, I've lost between 75 and 80 lbs and bought size 14 jeans this weekend!  Oh, and I am going to update my profile pic today.

Thanks for posting this!

Hello everyone.  I had my VSG on 7/17/08 and my starting weight was 205 pounds.  I did have a few complications, including not being able to eat or drink anything for 8 1/2 weeks but you know I would do it again in a heartbeat.  My weight hovers around 125 and I never thought I'd see the day when I could wear a size 6 pants.  I feel terrific and am glad that I spent the money to have the surgery.  I have an added benefit because my daughter also had the surgery in Sep 08 and she has lost 120 pounds and wears a size 10/12 and my Aunt also had the surgery last April and she is down about 50 pounds.

I had my lap RNY on 11/26/2007.
Total loss is 110 lbs.  Went from size 22-24 to size 8-10 and perfectly happy right where I am at now.  I hope to have the plastics done in next 2 years to remove the excess skin, especially the batwings and tummy.
No real complications with exception of having to have some adhesions removed about 10 mos post surgery.  I did have to have my appendix out, but that probably would have happened surgery or not.
I do great on my vitamins, but do still struggle getting all the protein in.  Still don't have an appetite, which is great as far as I am concerned.

No more diabetes, or high blood pressure.  I can take the hot summers so much easier now, but the winters chill me to the bone.

I am so glad I did this before it was too late.
