10 months out, vsg. Stalling at 140 but at *some point* the damn scale must move. I think I've done well and will continue to do so : ) Have no food intolerance and no sickness except from gerd and if i eat sugar, which i very rarely do because I was never a sweets-eater. Very pleased I did this.

Currently I am pre-op and hoping to have a date as of tomorrow!

I am doing a COMPLETE liquid diet for two days in preparation for the 2 week pre-op I will have to go through.

On the family front we are getting ready for my son to enter the military a week after my surgery.

On a personal front, I am STILL struggling with snacking/eating late at night. I am still very heartburny when I eat in the morning and trying to get my body to change is proving difficult.

OK Guys and Gals here is the latest from MommaHen. I had RYN  November 10,2008. I know I have been missing but I am trying to battle back from my own private and personal demons. I am so excited I am 10 1/2 months out and I am only 5 pounds from the personal goal I set when asked by my doctor at our first visit. See I was 407 pounds of miserable self loathing fat. I am now down 202 pounds and feel like a completley new person. (There is somethings I want to discuss with other post ops but will start a new thread for it)  I now weigh in at 205 pounds and have more energy than I know what to deal with at times people keep telling me to slow down especially since I have become addicted to the lo carb venoms and the sugarfree rockstars I know I know no carbonation but I cant seem to stop. I have to watch myself very clsoely as I have found that I CAN do a couple small pieces of candy though more than 2-3 pieces of especially chocolate makes me sick sick sick! So everyone watch yourself especially as we get out further out about letting in the wrong stuff. Since my recent call from OWLO reminding me of my yearly I have gotten my butt back in gear on my protien shakes (my doctor recommends them though not all do) and WOULD LOVE too actually see that onederland before then but will be honest with the exercise (fence posts and new granite walkways as well as being given a bowflex I may be gaining muscle and that is the reason my loss has slowed down lately as well.

Having the time of my life!

I went to Dr. Gornichec to get evaluated for an RNY and was told that my lab tests showed that my diabetic A1C level was 10.6. Dr. Gornichec explained that he does not operate on anyone with an A1C level above 8. If anyone can give me a word of encouragement, I really need help. The nutricionist put me on a strict, minimal carbs and high protein diet, but I wonder how long it will take to reduce my blood sugar to the point the doctor wants it to be. If anyone has a similar experience, I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks!

I went on the pre op diet and lost 76 pounds..and I also went from being  a diabetic to off all meds...so I would recommend doing that kind of diet...here I am 22 months post op and my ac1 is under 3.5  The healthy lifestyle has changed so much...I would call and ask OWLO..360-7100 if they operate on people with your ac1...
Hugs to ya..and if ya need to vent I am here for you
