Fall Roll Call...lets here about you!
this has been such a ride. I remember when Debbie(Fleemore) told me to hang on to my hat cuz it was gonna be a wild ride and boy was she right. I will be one year out on Nov 17 and this has been the best thing that I have ever done...well one of the best..its at the top. I can do so many things that I havent done in years and I have found my self esteem and confidence again..it was buried in my fat, but now its gone and its glowing. I have lost 157lbs thus far and my surgeon told me last week that maybe 15 more pounds and next year look at plastics to get off the extra skin weight...which he said could be 10-15lbs...YIKES...lol. i have went down many sizes..from a 32 to 16 and still melting. I would like to be in a 10-12 we will see. I would do this again in a heartbeat, and I hate the my deceased husband didnt get over his fear of the surgery, cuz he might still be with me and the kids. My kids and myself are the reasons why I listened to God on this one...they didnt need to see another parent taken too soon from their lives, and not to mention, I have plenty of living to do, "either get busy living or get busy dying..."that is a true motto from The Shawshank Redemption....I am busy living. I came from not even using my brain power to think about workin out to now working out 5 days a week for an hour at the gym and walking steadily during the day. I am even running now...I can not believe it, I am loving it...I am addicted to the gym, but i will take that addiction over others.lol

Wow LeDetra! You have done awesome! I read your story and it sounds like my own! It is by far the best thing I've done for myself as well. 190 pounds gone...forever. I want to loose about 40 more but if I don't I still have so proud of myself and what I can do now. I actually have a life now 18 months later. I am also in a size 16 and started at a 32/34!!! I showed my grandson who is almost 3 a picture the other day. It was a family picture the Christmas before my WLS. I asked him who certain people were and when I pointed to me he said "I don't know"!!! I'm so glad he didn't know me before because I am such a different person! Life is good and I am so blessed!!
(((HUGS)))
Ok, I had an open RNY on August 3, 2004. I've lost over 170 lbs and love it! I've had a total of 10 surgeries now, but even with the complications, I'm in better health than ever and it was totally worth it!
Clothing-wise, I've gone from a size 24/26W to a size 4/6. I'm finally happy in my own skin and content with the size I am and that is a great feeling!
I would love to lead a support group, but I am just as happy attending them and being able to pay it forward to others starting out in this journey. I try my best to be an inspiration to others!
