Totally O.T. Stress/Foreclosures and so on

First this is not an add for anyone or any company. It is about the stress of society right now.
Guys, I know that with the economy being so bad that everyone is suffereing. I know the housing issues are bad too. I have just gone through some stuff and wanted others to know....If you are having problems with your house payments ,you CAN talk to your mortgate company and they CAN do a House Modification! Don't lose your homes to this. There is a program that Obama put into force to help you if you are behind. Tell them you need to talk to the department that handles the Modifications under the Obama program. It is often a totally different department than your regular Mortgages are under. Don't live in fear of losing your homes....ASK! I was a Sherriff's sale away from losing my home of 36 years and they did mine, so I know it can be done. They lowered my interest and my payments and put my back due payments on to the end.

The stress of all this can cause so many  other issues and we don't need more than we already have.  I just wanted to tell you guys about this, as I just recently learned about it.

I know I haven't been posting much lately and because of some health issues and some other stresses. I have been in hiding. I am pulling myself out and will try to be here more.
I miss you all and will be posting again soon.

Sherry

Thanks Pati,  I just want people to know it is out there. I am sure that even if everyone on here is ok with their homes....they know someone who is not and it may help. It is persistance that helps to get this done though and many people will say it's not possible, but it is, if you ask and find the right department to talk to.
Thanks for the ear... I get pretty private when I have any issues and go into hiding. It get's hard at times but I never want to be a pain so I just keep to myself.

Thank you Pati.

I was wondering... Do you have to be behind with your payments to be able to ask for this modification?  I am still out of work and my husband's pay was reduced by 20% and it is getting very tight.  If I could lower our mortgage payment, it would be much easier for us, especially if I don't find a job before my unemployment runs out.

Thanks for the information.

Kim, I would call them and talk to them about it. The fact that you are without a job and his pay was reduced may qualify you. I think if your cir****tances change as much as yours has, then you should qualify for assistance.
ALL mortgage companies CAN do modifications. They are just modifying the terms of the loan, not refinancing it, so there is no re-qualifying, but they can lower the interest and the payment amounts.
I'm not sure BUT I know that there IS a totally different department set up to help people like this. I say you should call and ask for the department that does the modifications. Tell them you know there is a department for this and ask to talk to a manager about it...Pu**** because they don't offer up the info. Plead your case with them. I have Citimortgage and I get calls from one dept telling me I am behind and the modification dept telling me all is fine. It is all on the up and up and when they compare notes they always say...OHHHH ok, yes, your right. One thing that I need to make clear is that I'm not going through any 3rd party or some home saver company. It is through my mortgage company. It is scary but I got the number from the attorney who was going to do the Sheriffs sale. Obama ok'd this as part of the rescure plan to help people so I do know it's possible. I know of 3 other people that I am friends with that have saved their homes by doing this.

I hope this helps and I'll pray thta you are able to get them to help you with this.

I will check with my mortgage company tomorrow and see if they have that option available.  Thank you so much for the information.

Kim, all mortgage companies have that option available, so be somewhat forceful in asking to speak to someone higher up if they say they don't. It is a federal program. It is a free option....It is called a modification of the terms of the original contract. It can be done. (My daughter is in the mortgage business so I know it is out there). She is the one who connected me with the right people at Citimortgage.  I even had a friend in Delaware who's best friend did the same thing I had done. They cut his payments in half when they reset the loan. Good luck and I will be praying for good results.

Have you tried Mid-First Bank for a job?  You have to apply online thru MidFirst.com or MidfirstBank.com, something like that.  They also have Midland Mortgage Group, and those are the jobs I applied for.  Anything that doesn't have to do with the banking side, like teller, unless that is what you want.  Midland hired me a couple of weeks ago, but I had accepted a job here in Fort Smith like 2 hours earlier.  They were going to hire me as a Loss Mitigater.  They were going to hire me as a Plan Administrator, but my nephew's wife was a supervisor in that dept. so they found another job for me.  It would be a great job, as this is something like Sherry was talking about.  They service loans, so people in those two jobs call and ask for help on the mortgage for one of the companies they service.  They take the info and work out a plan to save their home through one of the approved plans.  Pay is around $11 to $12/hour with overtime, plus as a plan administrator or loss mitigation agent, you also get a bonus for every person you get into a plan.  Interviewer told me the top people get like $1500/month extra.  My neice-in-law said she averaged about $600 to $800/month.  Go online at midfirst.com and apply if it interests you.  I got a lot of rejects back, but I kept applying and applying, and that was with my neice in law and my other nephew who works for Mid First as references.  At the time I interviewed, they were hiring around 15 people.  Worth a shot.  They are located just off Western on Grand.  Good luck with your job search.  Michael

Thank you for the suggestion.  I live in Wichita, KS so I don't know if we have one here or not.  I did apply for about 5 jobs today so hopefully one of them will call.

I'm sorry, Kim.  I never noticed you live in Wichita -- I just presumed you lived in Oklahoma City.  Good luck with the job search.  I pray that something will come along soon for you.  Michael
