2 year surgiversary

Hard to believe that today is my 2 year surgiversary.  I will have to say that if it wasnt for this site that I dont know if I would have ever gotten the surgery much less made it thru the last two years.  The support and information that I have gotten from here has been phenomenal even if I havent been online much the last 6 months, been pretty busy.  For you who are still trying to decide if it is right for you...do it...it was the smartest thing I have ever done and do not regret it one bit... I know there are people who have had bad side effects from the surgery but I think honestly, that they are far and few in between.  I have had no problems what so ever...except the hair loss at about 6 months but all stopped by 9 months out.  I am happier and healthier now more than i have been in years.  I am more active and refuse to ever go back to the old ways.  I dont miss anything and I still get that full feeling after eating a small portion...of course i can eat a little more than i could at the beginning but not much more and my husband tells me that I am still a very cheap date....lol...got to love it.  My life is great and I would do it over again and anyone who asks, I tell them so....Thanks everyone on this site who I have talked to over the last two years and good luck to anyone who has recently or will get the surgery...believe in it and yourself....you will succeed!!!!

I have lost a total of 220 pounds and my surgeon wants me to get down to 150 pounds. Well I am about 10 pounds from goal.. Everyone that sees me tells me that I am way to thin as it is.  I am just wondering what to do.. I am very happy wiith my results now but that number keeps sticking in the back of my head and when I look in the mirror I have to admit I do look very thin.. I am 5'10 and 158-`60 pounds..Any one out there have a similar thought?

you know, i was told by my doc that he wanted 155 for me...i am 5'9" and even at 155 my husband thinks i am too think...i was happy with that but I kept losing weight, almost 20 lbs more...but i fluctuate...I am honestly adding more fat to my diet because I dont like being where i am...i think the docs are pretty close when they set the goal but I also think that everyone is different...155 on you will look different than 155 on me...talk to your doc about it...sometimes i think too that they set the numbers low because after so many years people gain a lil back...i dont know

First of all~ Happy 2 year Surgiversary!  I remember talking to you in the past, as we live in pretty much neighboring towns and are both Military wives :)

I saw what y'all were saying about goal weights and regaining and such...  I am 5 + years post-op myself and my surgeon set my goal at 155 lbs (slightly over 5'6" tall).  I have been well below his goal for years.  I stay between 130 and 140 at all times and don't want to go any higher or lower than that.  My pouch is still very small and I don't eat very much at once... I always bring food home when I go out to eat.  I think that it's all been worth it, as well!  Congrats again!  You look wonderful :)
