I made it!

I am back home now. Actually came home yesterday, but didn't really have a chance to post. I am VERY sore and wasn't expecting this. I don't know what I was thinking, but I figured I would be tired and that was it... No pain!! Du-uh... I just had a MAJOR surgery, of course I am in pain. I guess I was focusing on the future (which I still am) that I really thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal... I am getting much better though. The liquids are definitely hard to get down. It's so weird how I take a sip and it sits on top of my pouch and then gurgles and then slides on into it... wEird. I asked my mom (who is an RN) if she had her stethescope here so I could hear it gurgle. Yep. I am weird. Most of my pain is in my neck upper shoulders and back. Mom said that is just the gas rising and trying to find a way out.
At any rate, I am getting ready to go back to my home. I am really glad I have through monday to recover. Thank goodness for holidays!
Thanks for all of your prayers! The doctors, nurses, parents and I could not be happier with the way things went. I have had to take pain meds a couple of times, but not too terribly often.
Anyways, Thank you again for your support and encouragement as well as your prayers. Here's to the new me.

Oh, btw... I ended up losing 48lbs pre-op. Wooohooo!!! I can't wait for the weight to really start melting off now!

Talk to you all soon.. I will update my signature line after a bit. This is pretty cool!

I knew you would be okay....just rest and take care of yourself...but of course don't rest too much, get up and walk around the house a bit. Glad it all went well. Congrats on your loss so far... more lbs going soon!!!

Welcome home Angie!!!  So good to know you're home and making progress.  It is wierd to drink when you first try it out.  Feels totally different.  Little sips and pretty soon it will be more comfortable.  I'm so glad you've had a good experience, just sets  you up to continue the same.  48 pounds pre-op is outstanding!!!  Blessings to you as you recover.

So good to hear that you're home and doing well. The pain will lessen. I didn't have much at all, but we're all different. You're doing great! I remember the strangeness with drinking. :)
Blessings,

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME HOME! GET UP AND WALK A LOT AND THAT SORENESS WILL GO AWAY BEFORE YOU KNOW IT. ALSO I THINK IT HELPS THE GAS MOVE ON OUT (EITHER END) FASTER AND THAT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER!
