So let me be honest for one moment...
I got me test results back from the hospital(the ones you must take prior to surgery) and my EKG had notes on it. I couldn't read them so I asked my wife, a nurse, to read it. She said it says my EKG was abnormal and I may have had some sort of heart attack in the past. My regular doctor upon seeing the results scheduled my consultation with a cardiologist. I must admit i have been nervous of late about this. I am 41 and never had any heart problems. My Dad was a large man like myself and died at 56 of a "heart virus," not heart attack. I was reminded Saturday night that I am a chosen man of God and he does have great plans for me. This alleviated my concerns some but i was wondering if anyone else had results like this and what happened. thanks in advance.

I haven't been in your shoes but I wanted to say that at least you've got an appointment with the cardiologist and they should be able to help you out. Remember not every heart attack feels like a heart attack and it's not that uncommon for someone to have had one and not known. Just think that after this surgery how much better it will be for your heart!
Bob:
I did not have an EKG come back abnormal, but I did have the stress test come back abnormal, indicating also that I may have had a minor heart attack in the past and like you I thought that was strange and unlikely, since I had always felt fine and no heart issues in my family. I had to have an angiogram to rule out any heart issues, and I was told by the cardiologist on that day that very often, being obese, can cause false positives, as it was in my case. So, don't stress about now, wait and see what the cardio says, most likely they will do more testing. Good luck and stay positive!
I had an stress test indicate possible blockage and they went in to do a stint and then found out there was no blockage. Follow it out but just know that God had everything under control and many people have had false reports. It was just one of those hoops I had to jump through but in the end it was so worth it. It delayed my VSG a bit but I decided there must have been a reason.

I saw the doctor today, they ran a new EKG and also did a ultrasound on my heart. the doc says everything is running perfectly and heart shows no signs of blockage, hear attack or anything else wrong. Praise the Lord! It was very interesting watching while they did the ultrasound of my heart.
Thank you-
