Exhaustion

I am five months post surgery (sleeve) and I am exhausted all the time.  I was pretty healthy before the surgery, so my main reason for having the surgery besides weight loss was for more energy.  Now I am more tired that I ever was before surgery.  It is really affecting my marriage, my job, my attitude, everything.   Has anyone else experienced this?  And if so, what is the solution?

I suffer it every day.  Some days I am so wiped out I can't work.  I've spoken to Dr. Walton about it but we haven't figured anything out.  I also take a little extra B-12 but that doesn't work either.

I go in for my 6 month checkup next week and intend to ask.  I'll post if I find out anything.

Thanks for letting me know I am not the only one.   Please let me know what you find out.

How did it go at your 6 month visit?  Were you able to find out anything about the exhaustion?

It will get better, I felt the same way all last winter, just try to get extra rest when you can and keep following the plan. I believe it is just the combination of surgery and the rapid weightloss. If I remember correctly between months 4 thru 6 for me that it took everything I had to keep going and after that I just got stronger every day.

Thanks Lorrie

I had gone to my primary care physician last month for depression.  They changed my anti-depressant medicine and it seemed to help.  But I still just want to sleep all the time.  I have absolutely no energy.  I sure hope it gets better soon.

I didn't have the same surgery as you but have you had your labs checked?  It could be iron or B-12.  How is your protein intake?  It could also be that your anti-depressant isn't working for you and you need to have it changed.  Hope you start feeling better soon

I fight exhaustion all the time too.  I thought it was because I'd had so many complications.  Maybe it is the rapid weight loss.  One day I'll have a ton of energy, the next I can hardly move out of my tracks.  I had RNY in December.

Are you getting enough B12 and mutivitamin? I have never had a problem with lack of energy except right after surgery.  I take a B12 sot every month and 2 multivitamins a day. Hope you find the answer.
