OT-Dropped off my baby at Pre-K today

Well, after 4 years of being "Grammy's boy" my little man started a new chapter today. I dropped him off at Pre-K this morning instead of taking him to my mom's to snuggle back under the covers. He seemed comfortable and didn't even notice when I left but my heart broke just a little as I was getting into my car. I can't believe that it's already been 4 years since the nurses laid that 7lbs of pure love in my arms. I know he can't be a baby forever but did it really have to go by so quickly? I feel like the world it spinning too fast today, and there is nothing that will slow it down. My mom says it only gets worse as they get older...and I know she's right. Sometimes I just want to freeze time, and soak up the moments.

Not me! I sang the Hallelujah Chorus every year on the first day of school! I love my kids, but I was SO ready for school. :)

I totally understand what you mean.  I did the exact same thing.  We have them under our total control for such a short time and then they get thrown into "life" or school and the outside influences come into play.  I was horrified when my "baby" came home and shared with me some of the words he learned on the school bus.  Enjoy him while you can and hold him tight when you have him with you.  One day you will turn around and he'll be a grown man and will continue to make you proud as well as cry from time to time.  It seems like the older I get the faster time goes by and I'd like to shout stop the marry go round and let me off for a while so I can enjoy life and not spend so much time merely making a living!!!  You are in my thoughts and prayers and it will get easier.  You'll begin to star****ching him bloom and grow and then watch all his activities and ball games and he'll make you so proud!!!  Hang in there my friend.  He's still "Grammy's boy" and your little man!!!   (((HUGS)))

I totally enjoyed every minute of my time at home with my kids when they were little and wouldn't take anything for any of my time with them.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

This made me sniffle. I remember the first time I dropped my baby off too. I hope yours did well through the day.
