Time passes too fast

We are planning for a quick day trip to OKC this Sat. (8/8) for my birthday.  My mom has bought tickets for everyone in the family to take the boat ride on the river, starting at the Chesapeake boat house, I think.  We are all looking so forward to this.  I love being around my entire family -- we always have so much fun.  Course my 2 sisters are giving me a hard time about how she has never done this for THEIR birthdays, but I have to remind them that she loves me best, and I have had her cut them out of the will.    Then I am realizing that it will be a year since my surgery on 9/15!!  Gez, I thought I would NEVER get the lbs off to have the surgery, and now, it's almost a year.  I am so, so happy that God led me down this path and all the changes that have occured during this year.  Dessie had gone to Dr. Roller in Springdale to see about a sleeve, but saving the cash for it was going to take longer that we had hoped.  She called the Cherokee hospital today, and after a 3 month weight clinic, she can be considered for the lap band, which will be done for free.  We went to Hastings in Tahlequah today to get the process started.  Have to get her healthy for the new baby coming.  (She has told our daughter that she will be the babysitter when she goes back to work.  I said we were charging her, but I think I was overruled on that!)    I was going to give her a discounted rate and everything!!  Anyway we are going to use a little of the money we had started saving for the surgery on a gym membershp, which I am totally excited about.  Both hospitals here have gyms with pools, but one has a heated pool for her to exercise, since she can't do the machines.  I am still self-conscience about all the gym rats, but am going to swallow my pride and just do it.  Anyway, wanted to thank each of you here on being here and helping this year to be such a success.  As I always say, love y'all.  Michael

Wow Michael!!! Happy birthday to you as well.  I'm happy that you guys were able to get on the road for Dessie's lap band.  I know many who have done quite well with it.  One of our friends from WeightWise who attends the support meetings regularly has lost way over 100 pounds.  It will be a great tool for Dessie!  I agree that she is lucky to have you in her cheering section and you guys can do this together.  Getting healthy for the new grandbaby!!!  What an awesome Papa you are going to be indeed!!!

We love you too my friend!!
