Breakfast Blahs

I do really well for awhile, but long about August, breakfast is almost repulsive to me.  But, I know I do better overall if I eat the nasty stuff, even if it's just a shake or some yogurt.

Today I mixed on scoop of muscle milk light cake batter flavor in one carton of thick and creamy light cinnamon yogurt-that made it have the consistency of frosting.....and wasn't bad at all....something like 200 calories and 18 grams of protein.

I'm doing what I can to get something in my tummy in the mornings.

I don't want to chew anything early in the morning-when it's cooler outside, I can deal with oatmeal, but right now even the thought of it gags me-but if I don't eat something, I will for sure get into trouble later on in the day.

I used to make a "cheesecake" out of jello and yogurt that was pretty good-I may try that.  You could do the same with jello and ricotta.....in fact I might do ricotta too because I think it has more protein.

By noon, I'm ready to eat steak-it's just getting that morning dose of protein I struggle with.  I bought some bullets-but this morning THEY grossed me out.

I agree the bullets are GROSS, but I put a 1oz shot in a shot glass an down it 2 to 3X a day to get some added protein in.. I shoot it (like old time with my buddy Jose) and chase it with a drink of water... the shiver is almost like it used to be with the Jose! lol

Can you share the recipe for the "cheesecake"?

I've been making myself eat yogurt if nothing else....then later on, around 10, I have some cheese or something like that....but honestly, in this heat I'd rather just have a big ol' bowl of cool whip.

I've been really bad about not eating breakfast.  Lately, breakfast is my vitamins.  If I try to eat more I just start gagging.  Protein shakes are still out of the question.  I'm praying it gets better once it cools down.  I can usually get a string cheese down around noonish.  It's such a struggle to get protein in lately!!  (I'd been doing the bullets too...yeah, can't do that anymore either.  I'm going to have to work on a protein bar throughout the day, from now on.  Hopefully that will work.)

If you like ricotta, my ricotta dessert is really good for breakfast, too.  It's just ricotta cheese, half a packet of splenda or truvia, fresh lemon zest, and SF blackberry or apricot jelly.  Just make sure your ricotta is fresh!!  Stephanie was over for the 4th of July and I made some up and didn't realize it was bad.  Thankfully I tasted the cheese before she did.  LOL

I like to make egg muffins. They are great for me cuz i am in such a rush in the morning. Mix up eggs, cheese, bacon/sausage, onion, pepper (whatever ingredients you like) in a bowl like you were gonna make an omelette. Pour the mixture in muffin pans and bake. I make them and put them in baggies...grab one out of the fridge nuke it for about 20 seconds and voila!
