Not a walk in the park

I survived surgery, but it wasn't a piece of cake, so to speak. It was rough. But then I guess everyone is different. Thanks for the prayers. I'm sure I wouldn't have made it without them.

I gained 10 lbs. the day of surgery but as of today, that's gone along with another 4. So, that's the good news. The bad news is I'm trying to figure out what this squeezing feeling is in my chest — excessive gas? drinking too fast? etc? I can't seem to find a multivitamin that I can stomach. So, I'm off in search of that today, along with immodium, smar****er and a year's supply of gas x strips.

Another week or so and I'm sure I'll be one of the happiest campers on OH. Right now I'm just trying to get to know my new self.

You are at about the worst point in the recovery for most- about day 4.  Hang in there!  It really does get better!

I used Centrum chewables for the first almost a year.  They are not gourmet but are doable unlike most of the chewables.

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Hang in there!  It does get better!  I had a rough start.  I'm a BIG ole baby when it comes to stuff like this....If I can get through it I'm sure you can!  LOL!   You are right, give it another week or so and you'll be a very happy camper!!!

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." Erma Bombeck

You're doing great Vicky!

It sounds like you just have excess gas and remember, you got pumped full, too full, of fluids and air etc....you might definitely be drinking too fast...just do little sips for at least a week, you'll get your water in. It's amazing how we don't realize how far away and how deep our stomachs are UNTIL THEY'RE MOSTLY GONE! And also remember the stomach you have left isn't down by your belly button, it's right at your breastbone thereabouts and it's sore and inflamed and been messed with so even water is going to feel like pain for awhile!

Don't worry about the vitamins the first week or so, you'll be fine. The gas will dissipate and the weight will start dropping off like crazy and you WILL be a happy camper!
