A funny Friday Story

Oliver, aka Mr. Bird has been sleeping out on the sunporch since the weather day and night has been perfect-but last night it was a little cold so I brought him (grumpily) in.  I'd forgotten how funny he is when he first wakes up-he just says whatever is in his brain at the moment......this morning I wake up to:

Quack Quack Quack.....(not the sound of a duck, the words quack quack quack).  He's never dull, I'll say tht for him.

He is a cool bird, but he's a lot of work.  We work together because I'm at home a lot, so he has something (me) to watch, or he can watch the dogs or watch TV or listen to his music......A grey that isn't kept occupied is a whole 'nother critter.  The border collies, who are smart, can be distracted and amused with a bone or a ball-but Oliver has to have something semi-complicated to keep him out of trouble.

I'm taking a two week vacation in October-and worrying about him gives me more stress than all the other kiddos put together.

That's hilarious!  A friend of ours has one of those white parrots with the huge crest on her head...can't remember what that's called.  Anyway, he's got her potty trained and takes her out in public a lot.  She'll tell him, "I gotta go!" and he takes her out of the crowd and will hold his arm out and tell her to potty.  She sticks her butt out and goes.  She also does "tricks."  She holds on to his hand and he swings her up & upside down, then holds her out.  She spreads her wings and shouts (literally, shouts, she loves attention) "ta-daaaa!"  Coolest bird I've ever met!
