Silly but fun question

A friend of mine who also had wls and I were talking yesterday about some of the things that we did before wls.  Hiding food was one of the funniest things that we talked about.  This question is for all my wls peeps.  Before wls did you hide food? and if you did where did you hide it?  I will confess that I used to hide Coca-Cola in my bedroom closet.  I don't know why I did it because there was always enough in the house pre wls.   I am curious at how many of you also hid food.  Lisa

Hi, Lisa.
Well...I remember a time (fairly early in my marriage) when I kept craving malted milk balls (eww, I know). My husband, however, didn't want me to go overboard with them, so he said, "No more."
While he was gone, I pulled out the last of the carton and began eating them. Wouldn't you know, he came home early. I ran upstairs (I wasn't as heavy, then) and flushed them down the toilet.
I was back downstairs and in my recliner, by the time he walked through the door...panting, I'm sure. He probably wondered what I'd been doing. haha  Anyway, he went upstairs to go to the bathroom, came down a few minutes later, walked past me, backed up, and casually said, "Oh, by the way, Honey. Malted milk balls don't flush." Those puppies had popped right back up! BUSTED!
How embarrassing! I can't believe I shared that story. :)
Blessings,
Mary

Mary, that was the funniest story ever!

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." Erma Bombeck

I did that too! My big thing was eating out and hiding the evidence...which really is bizarre because my husband never said anything.  I think I was just ashamed.  My hubby cleaned out my car the other day and found wrappers that I had hidden in my console and under my seat (I forgot about them!).  The other thing I would do is sneak out of bed after everyone was asleep and eat.

It wouldn't do any good to hide food around here, the kids find it!!!  Although I'm tempted to start hiding things NOW, because that greek yogurt is MINE, dammit.  There's so few things I can tolerate right now, and what I can eat they always get into.  Twerps.

Before WLS, my biggie was going through the drive through and eating while driving.  Even though it made me sick almost every time, I loved McDonald's Big Mac super size meals.  When I was working I also had a problem with somebody stealing lunches out of the break-room fridge, so I started eating takeout.  I worked on 4th & Lincoln and an hour lunch, so I had easy access to all the good restaurants in Bricktown.  Zio's and Earl's were my favorites.

I would always get an extra snack and bury the wrapper in the trash or when checking out at the supermarket I would buy a couple candy bars to eat while in transit.  DH never ragged on me about weight and always accepted me for who I am, still I felt the need to sneak.  I think for me its a throwback from childhood and hiding treats from Mama because she was critical of my weight.

I never hid food, but I would buy several candybars at the grocery store an when they would aks if I wanted them left out, I would lie and say oh noo I dont eat that its for the kids.. But in the 10 miles it took to get home guess what? yep no candybars for the kids! I did feel guilty for telling a lie, but not for eating 2 pk's of reeses cups.
