Any ideas on keeping squirrels out of a fenced and netted, garden??? About the time I think I have it fixed, I see another whole beautiful tomato laying in my yard with a bite or two out and that's it!! I am so ready to just start shooting!  I have no idea on what to do now but I am sick of my tomatoes ending up half eaten! Birds cant get in there so I know it's not them....I don't have rabbit issues...It's the freakin squirrels! They don't like them, or they'd eat more than a bite and leave it....They eat green ones if there are no red ones! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR I am almost ready to lace pecans with antifreeze or haul out my 22....Any other more humane ideas???

Try some realistic looking rubber snakes. We had squirrels in our overhang areas last year and it liked to drive us crazy getting them out. Someone told my husband about the snake trick. We now have a rubber snake sitting on the roof area near the overhang (makes me jump every time I see it) but no more squirrels!

I would think Target or Walmart would have them.

Probably they have them at WalMart.  Albertson's used to have good looking snakes.  (Did I really just type those words?? lol)
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Them squirrels are some mite fine vitels.  Fry em up just like chicken.  MMMMMMMM!   You can also get an owl with a bobel head on it that will work.  I got one of those at Walmart also a few years back.

I have a live trap I'll loan you-but I don't know what you'd do with the squirrel once you caught it....LOL.  If they had babies-the babies would starve.  I think they have repellent for critters at the garden supply.

I doubt trapping would work because I came home today from the pool and there were 3 squirrels in my pecan tree....I think they are telling the neighbor squirrels about what great tomatoes I have!! While I was in ACE asking about stuff to use....I thought about more netting...I have it across the top and chicken wire around the sides....They are going in under the chicken wire.....so I saw some netting that was 3ft high and 50 ft long. I got that and wrapped the garden in that and staked it down into the ground at different points....NOW let's see what they do with this!!!!! I swear that if they get in again....I'm lacing pecans with antifreeze!!!

I would try the snake idea.  I saw something on TV about squirrels and how smart they are.  Someone was tired of them eating all their bird seed, so they devised this outlandish way to keep them away from the feeder.  Within 2 or 3 days, they found a way to still get to the seed.  It was fasinating watching them try different things until they found something that worked.  Good luck -- I would be plenty mad if they were getting my tomatoes too, since that is my favorite.  Michael
