Happy to pass on great news.  My nephew (Brett) and his wife (Kelli) have both been approved to have the lap band surgery.  They are both so excited.  He is an x-ray tech at Bone & Joint and they recently added WLS to their insurance.  I think it is only covering the lap band, and the doctor they are going to only does that.  They have to wait the standard 6 months for insurance.  I am so excited for them.  I have told them about the site and they have registered, with Brett being orthort70 and Kellie is brantley04.  I have told them they have got to get on the Oklahoma forum because of all the wonderful people here.  But, they are both so busy with both their kids in sports, so it is constant running.  So, if they ever make is on here, you know who they are.  My mom has told me that they have been wanting it, and even more so, seeing how I have done.  I feel honored in any type of tiny help I might have had in this.  They are such great people.  I am trying them to come to the meet and greet -- I hope they come so they can see in person how great everyone is.
Dessie had her eye surgery today in Tulsa.  I am sitting in the motel room in Broken Arrow as we have to be at the doctor's office first thing in the morning.  She had diabetic retinapathy (I know, spelling, ugh).  She had bleeding in the eye and they went in to suck all the gell out that had blood in it, then laser the bleeders.  She did good, and so glad it is all over.
WHERE IS GLITTER?  Did I miss something?  Is she gone on vacation?  I miss her!
Love y'all, Michael

Congrats to your nephew and his wife!  I am so glad Dessie's surgery went well.  I hope this solves her problem.

Glitter has been busy.  The farther we get out the less we need the support of OH as we are busy leading our healhtier lives.  I am sure she will be around soon.

Good luck at the doc's office today!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Congrats to your nephew and his wife.  How nice is it that they have for support and to help them along!
I hope Dessie is doing well after her surgery!
Take care of yourself and Dessie too!

I am so glad it all went well with Dessie. I have been praying!
You know this board will welcome anyone and when it's family, even more so! I am so happy that you did have a part in this. You never realize just how much we impact others by our own experience with it.
Keep us up on Dessie's progress and give her hugs!

I'm here!  I've just been more of a lurker than a poster lately.  I know, that's bad and I really should be better about "paying it forward"!  But I have to confess that it's nice to have been missed!

So happy to hear about  your peeps getting approved for surgery.  That is fabulous!  I hope they both do great.  They certainly have an excellent example to follow in you.

Glad Dessie is doing well.  Tell her I said hi!

Take care, Muffin!
