If you are 6 months and out...how do you handle cravings..or the desire to munch.
Do you think that afer you have reached goal that you can add back certain foods and feel safe doing so?

I do have some cravings but not like before.  I do good at not having those things in the house, but sometimes I do feed my craving with just a little bit of what i am craving.  I know that I shouldn't but it really gets me through it.  I refuse to keep the junk food in the house because I dont trust myself.  Lisa

I do have some cravings but I am better at waiting them out or only having a small bite or two and calling it quits.  Do I feel "safe" with these often high carb foods- not really!  I know they are a slippery slope back to morbid obesity.  I know for certain that if I am not careful I can out-eat my surgery and regain.

My biggest change since surgery is that I can happily leave food on my plate with no problems.  Prior to surgery if it was there it was going in my mouth. Now, full is full.  I can also stop with a few bites of a dessert and be OK with sending the rest back or throwing it away.

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I have cravings occasionally.  I keep protein bars for when I have a sweet craving.  I can't eat an entire bar because it makes me nauseous.  that's the good thing about sweets and too many carbs make me sick too.  I pretty much stick to protein and non carb veggies.  If I need a snack I eat some almonds or something like that.

34 lbs. lost before surgery on December 22, 2008.   105 lbs. lost prior to signing up for WLS.

Since I can't eat much anyways, I will feed the craving (just a little) and then I am satisfied for a long period of time.

Yes, I have a few chips now and then.  As long as I don't eat them constantly and with moderation it has not caused me to gain back any weight.  It is not like before when I could sit and eat a whole large bag in front of the TV before I knew it.  My pouch tells me to stop now.

That's just me.

I appreciate all those that have answered this. I am trying to find a mental way to stop my craving for salt and chips. I tried so many things to end this craving. But nothing satisies me as potato chips...
So i am taking all these replies and use them for me.

Werid part aboutt he sweets is I love the peanut butter pure protein bars and can eat them all the time...and the carmel nut bars I got from WW....So for sweets I go to them.
thank you for all who have replied
