Kinda gross question...

I know you guys live for these kinds of questions! I was at the gym this morning and decided to try jogging in intervals.  I DID IT!!! I loved jogging in spurts.  However, and here is the gross part, my panus was uh slapping with each step.  How do you runners keep your hangy downy tummy under control when you run??  I was glad the gym wasn't too busy so no one was on the treadmill beside me to hear!   Any suggestions short of a girdle at the gym??

ROFL!

I have been wanting to jog a little too but dread that flapping motion! You know, last year when I was in denial (LOL) I bought a pair of Spanx from www.hsn.com and LOVED IT. I got the one that goes upto the ribcage and down to the knees--and I think I recall getting one that either 1 or 2 sizes more than the chart called for (read the product reports from buyers) and now I think I'll get just the main waist to knee one that Catherine's carries. Same company, just a different model. They are very thin but are AMAZING what they hold together!! Be sure not to puncture them with finger nails is all I can tell you! (they'll run like hose will) but they sure will allow jogging and such. They have an opening in them also so you don't have to completely disrobe to pee, which is a GREAT idea.

Assets is the off shoot of Spanx and is carried at Target...much much cheaper.  I personally like the shapewear tht I can get at Avenue and at Kohl's.  I wear one ALL the time.  I CANNOT wait for a tumy tuck...only they have to do more than just tuck my bad girl!!!  The one I wear ALL the time even under my swimsuit because I am so self-conscious about it jiggling..... as it does!!!

I think I will try Under Armor since it will wick moisture (at least I think.)  I sweat like a pig at the gym!  I have Spanx (well the Assets brand) and those puppies are HOT!!!!!

I had that same problem before my panis was gone two years ago.  I'm telling you girls...if you can't get the full tummy tuck...get that panniculectomy...I cannot tell you how much better I feel about myself since then...now I need the full tummy tuck, but I don't think my insurance will cover it.  I look like I have two butts!  One in front and one in back.  It ain't a pretty site...shiver...the teacher in me just came out with that sentence!  LOL

As for the Spanx and all that....I haven't been able to find any that fits me.  They all seem to be too small....or I'm just not rolling and stuffing like I should!  LOL

Hugs,
Marsha

Yes dear - get that UnderArmour and stretch it on.   I wear mine pretty much everywhere these days to keep the flapping and flopping under control...

I've been considering Marsha's thought about getting the panniculectomy, just not sure that I can afford/manage the down time (or the actual cost) of that surgery either.   Until something changes - I'm sticking with my UnderArmour.

Once you get everything snugged down, you'll feel even better about jogging without jiggling!

How about sizing on the Under Armour?  Do I stay true to size or go up or down???

My insurance would cover the panniculectomy, but not the tummy tuck.  That's why I went with that.  As for down time...it was nothing like a tummy tuck.  I had the surgery on Wednesday before my spring break, and I was back at work on Monday following spring break.  Now mind you, I have a really high pain tolerance, but it wasn't bad at all.  I spent one night in the hospital, and that was it.  It was so worth it to get that 13 lbs. of skin off of me.  The doctor was surprised that it was that much, and he thought it was fat instead of skin.  He was so surprised to find it was skin on skin and that much.  I'm going to be looking for some shape wear to hold my 2nd butt in.  LOL

Hugs,
Marsha

Marsha, I so want to have a panniculectomy but I will have to be a cash pay on that one I think.  I know you are a teacher so do you have your insurance through one of the plans with the State?  I didn't think any of them would pay.  I know HappyCat has that insurance and started documentation but it's nil to none that they pay for hardly anyone for that.  My husband is a teacher as well and if I thought his plan (Health Choice) or one that the State has to pick from I would get on his insurance in January so I might get this procedure done as well.  Just curious.  I'm glad to hear somebody actually gets insurance to pay for something!!!  You look great Marsha!
