Reimbursement for VSG
Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone did self pay for their VSG and then received a reimbursement from the insurance company for the hospital stay.
I spoke with Heather the finance person at the hospital, Foundation Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma she said they would not send my claim to BCBS Federal, because I did self pay. I would have to send it. So as soon as the claim was ready, I went to pick it up. Heather, wrote a certain code on the claim telling BCBS to send the payment to me, not the hospital since, we had paid them already. I sent it out the claim the next day. Few days later, I checked with BCBS and they said they received my claim. They also said that another claim for the same amount was received electronically from the hospital. That was the one they worked on first. That claim did not show that I had paid for the surgery, so BCBS sent my payment to the hospital. I talked to Heather, she said she did not know why they sent out the claim anyway. She told me that when they receive the check it will have to go through the channels and then must be approved, it should take about another 4 weeks before I get my check. Believe me, I'm very thankful that at least I'm getting some money back. Just wi**** was sooner than later.

Thank you so much! I just know when something like that happens if you don't stay on top of it they won't. You need to post a new avatar too. I know I still weigh more now than you did when you started but I personally have to remember where I was when I started. We all our own own journey and goals don't we? Thanks!
