I will pray for your son.  Our troops have such a hard job and it is soooo hot over there on top of the tough job they all have.  I will pray for his safety and that he will feel the power of prayer on his special day!

Thank you so much!  The heat is getting to them.

I can't even imagine that kind of heat and then all the sand on top of it as well as carrying all the weight with their uniforms, weapons and backpacks.  It's got to be totally stressful as well as dangerous.  It reminds me that I sure shouldn't complain about the heat here.  At least I can go inside to my nice cool home, office and all our malls and stores are cool too.  They can't escape it at all.  (((HUGS))) to you and will pray for you to have peace about his safety as well Kim.

I have heard, but am not sure, that those flat rate boxes can be packed full and mailed  to military, for that flat rate, no matter how much it weighs.  If you haven't checked into that...it would be great too.

Kim, I know how hard it is to have your child on the other side of the world. My son was in Iraq in 03 at the beginning of the war. I hope your's will not have to go again after this tour. Hubby has been on 5 combat tours and the last one was not so long ago. I will keep your son in my thoughts.

Oh also on the address you posted I have a question...

is it FOP AI or APO AI

You can relate I'm sure!  I can't imagine being you.  I'm having a pitty party for myself and you have a son and a hubby doing this.  I'm thankful that someone can do it.  I sure couldn't Im a baby!  I'm thinking about doing one of those boot camp things for exercise but I don't want anyone to see me Cry!  LOL!

The address is FPO!  There isn't much telling what I posted this AM in a rush, I will check it and edit it if I need to!
Thanks so much!

Thankfully my son is now a civilian and lives here in Lawton now. I wish Hubby was, but that will wait till June 2011. My son was relatively safe when he was deployed ( he was field artillery and pulled guard duty on convoys mostly. Hubby on the other had, not so much, he is on the bomb squad and is a team leader (the one who disarms the IED's). I am very proud of all the military and appreciate what they do, but I sure wish they could all come on back home and this be over.

Well you are not late.....just not exactly on time.. I am thinking of your son plus the millions of other sons and daughters that are over and else serving for us.
Its a dam shame that MJ has gotten so much attention about his death when there are so many more serving men and women who have died for us and nothing is ever mentioned.
I pray that you son come shome safe and sound...his life will never be the same....But he has my undying respect....
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

I love your Avi!  Its a really good pic!
Thank you for your kind words.  I do agree about all of MJ's attentions.  I thought it was WAY over board!  And all that attention for one man when there are thousands of men and women that deserve the recognition.
Thanks again!
Hugs
