Similar, but different at the same time -- my son was 19 and his girlfriend (now wife) 17 1/2 when I found out she was pregnant. They were scared too and did not tell us until she was almost 6 months pregnant! Loren's parents were not accepting and told her they would not help or support her. I told her that while the baby was their responsibility, I would not allow a baby to suffer and my help and support would be in guiding them in parenting him. My grandson turned 3 yesterday and I can't imagine not having him in our lives. They live with us and as crazy as it makes things I will miss them once they move out. There is still a lot of growing that they need to do, but I have also seen them mature so much through this experience. They are good parents and I tell them so every opportunity I get.

Your story made me cry.  I have been in your daughter's shoes and I SO wish my dad would have been the man you are. I guess he just handled me the best way he knew how.  I was astranged from my father for MANY years.  We have since made a mends and I want a relationship with him badly.  You sound like you are handling things the best way you can and you have the "Man Upstairs" on your side.  I pray he will guide you and protect your grandbaby and your daughter from harm.
Being a parent isn't easy.  Loving a grandchild IS!
