Go ahead, shake your head and say "Man, here we go again" It's ok.....but are you sure none of you are bald yet??? I am so wondering what time it will grow back....I have to clean the rollers on my vacuum cleaner every week and I could fill a pillow with the hair! I have no idea how I can lose anymore, until I brush my hair and see it all again....I try to not bru**** unless I have to....I feel like I have lost at least a few lbs in hair alone!

I just need to know that no one is bald yet?? Ok...just humor me here! PLEASE!!

I am not bald...but fear I might be by the end of the summer. I could have written the exact same things you said. I thought I was crazy for not wanting to brush my hair...lol...at least now if I am crazy I know I am not alone

I am almost 8 months out, and I am thinking that this hair loss should be stopping. I am fortunate that I started out with a lot of hair, but there is only so much hair on one head!

Well Sherry, if we do go bald....maybe we can get a bulk discount on wigs...lol

My hair was always very thin and straight and when it started falling out it seemed like it was by the handfuls. My clothes were always covered with hair and I was constantly cleaning out combs and brushes. No one else ever noticed it though. It stopped around 8 or 9 months out. One thing I noticed -- before my hair was so thin and straight that if I did not perm it or blow dry it it would fly very flat and would look like I had very little hair. Now I can just let it dry after my shower and it actually has body! I usually take a break from blow drying on the weekends or days off from work now and never could do that before.

I've never seen a bald woman at support group!  Promise!  It will grow back and you will be fine.  It happens on a different schedule for everyone but it does happen!   Hang in there!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I keep thinking this myself. I don't know how I can lose any more hair and still look decent. I hate to comb my hair. I shiver at the thought. My clothes are always covered in hair on my back and shoulders. I really do feel I will be bald. I guess a lot of us feel that way. I have been praying really hard for it to stop falling out.

I'm eating Biotin for a snack hoping that will help.....I even have to wear a net when I cook some dishes so that there isn't hair in the meals....For me it's a given....at least I'm clean!  I just need hope and I guess from what is being said it is ahead....not yet, but it's out there....I'm hoping it has body when it comes in like Nancy's! lol I never had that before, so when I am praying to not be bald, I'm adding the part about the body....I'd even take naturally curly!!

We'll just keep on praying Em...that's all we can do I guess!

I kept my hair short so I wouldn't have to see it-it's very thin and fine anyway, so losing it was not going to help.  I've started letting it grow again, and it seems pretty much like it always was.

One thing I did do was finally break the "I must wash my hair EVERY DAY" habit and that seems to have helped somewhat.

One thing though-before WLS I was a carb kinda gal-so I know I get much more protein now than I did before, so that probably helps with the hair....ok, and now I take vitamins....and that helps....and I get in dairy....hmmm, I'm just healthier, maybe that's why my hair is doing ok.

About the time I was ready to get a wig it stopped coming out! LOL  I clogged our shower so many times we went through 2 big deals of drain cleaner....and we have a new house so I know the clog was from my hair and not being an old shower.  My hair is finally looking as good if not better than before surgery so I promise it does get better and come back.  I've heard some RNY folks battle with the hair for a bit longer...not sure why, maybe the malsorbtion part.  Not even sure if that is true.  Anyway, with the VSG your hair will come back!  The girl that does my hair even commented last time that my hair was much thicker than before and that she was not trying to scare me but was really concerned I was going bald last year!

Thank you guys for the reassurance! I think when I turned the Vacuum over and saw it all for the 3rd time in a month! It just freaked me out! It makes one worry and the fear of brushing my own hair was paralizing me! You guys have helped me to have hope. that is what I needed. I am 5 months out so maybe it won't be too long before there is a slowing down of this phase....

Love ya

Sher, I certainly lost my fair share of hair but not only that but the hair that didn't fall out changed to dry brittle fuzzy nasty hair.  It stopped falling out about 8 or 9 months and has completely recycled by now and I must say that it's better now than before surgery.  It is thicker and I have let it grow longer than I've ever had it even though it's still short compared to your's!  I think all the vitamins and biotin have certainly helped that and then eating better and more protein too.  It will be ok...I promise!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!
