Why?

I think, as Denise said, some doctors are just not very educated in bariatrics and WLS surgery in general, and I think they shoud be, given the astounding number of obese people out there! I truly like my PCP, but he does treat like a different specimen since I have had WLS - he has supported me on this, but he just seems like he really does not know how to deal with me - fortunately, I don't have any issues that need to be treated, so I only seen him about once a year - just makes me wonder though, if I had any health issues, how would he handle that!!

I totally understand.  I had to junp through hoops to get my surgery and my OB-GYN/ONC had to specifically sign off on my surgery.  He was all nicey-nice to my face but then he is always the first one to tell Dr. B and now my hernia surgeon how complicated a patient I am and how he wouldn't do the surgery if it was him.  Man it ticks me off royal for him to say one thing to my face and then bad mouth me to the other doctors.  He is an awesome cancer doctor and I do respect his knowledge, but it drives me absolutely nuts when he says one thing to me and does something else.

Hang in there and I agree if he doesn't change his attitude, then I would find a new doctor.
