Would you use it?

I've got 3 big bottles of  Mirilax that expired in 2007.  I don't know that it actually goes bad, since it's an inert powder.

I should just call the pharmacist I used to work with, but I don't want it to be a "hey, haven't talked to you since I left work and the only reason I'm calling you is..." situation.

Hi.
I googled your question and got this:
"Expired Miralax will not hurt you but may not be as effective as you expect."
Since we are encouraged (at least Dr. Walton does) to use it daily, I doubt it would make too much of a difference, versus taking it now and then.
Hope this helps. :)
Blessings,
Mary

Yup. The expiration date just means they can't guarantee effectiveness. That stuff is too expensive to throw away!

My grand daughters have to use that on a daily basis. Because of the cost of it,  I would still use it no matter what. I honestly doubt that it can go bad....It's not something that it would hurt to just try to see if it still works.

It's powdered polyethylene glycol and in the same family as anti-freeze (liquid ethylene glycol).  As long as the powder is intact and there is no funny taste to it, it should be okay.
