I'm new!

Hey y'all!

I signed up on this site in December not thinking I'd ever be able to have the surgery, and here I am today a week out, so I thought I'd introduce myself!

I'm kind of anxious over this whole process... I'm just waiting for results! It's only been a week (I had my surgery the 3rd), and I've decided to wait until my 2 week post-op appointment to find out what I've lost.

I can't wait for everything to start changing!

Hi, Kristina.
Congratulations on your surgery. It sounds like you're doing very well. Welcome to the Okla. forum, full of very supportive people. Let us know how your first post-op appointment goes. I'm sure you'll be very pleased, and I congratulate you on staying away from the scale until then. That's a very good decision.
Let me know how I can encourage you on your journey.
Blessings,
Mary

Welcome Kristina~ Glad you decided to join us over at Oklahoma OH!  The support here is wonderful!  I am Renae ~ I am almost 5 years post-op RNY (my surgeon is in WF, TX) and I feel the support I've received, both online and offline, from others like myself is the reason I've been successful with my WLS.  Get ready for an awesome ride!  I'm down 173 lbs (from 303 to 130), plus I've had 2 beautiful kiddos and lost several illnesses/co-morbidities!  I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I had to!  I look forward to knowing you better!

Hi Kristina-

Welcome to the OK board. Good to know that you are starting out doing great! Best of luck and you are wise to wait for the 2 week appointment because of all of the stuff the pump you with surgery.

Everything will change, just be prepared for your clothes not to fit very soon. Let us know if you need anything. Everyone on this board is great and full of knowledge.

Welcome to the bench!

Hi Kristina,

Welcome.  I just had my surgery on June 3rd too.  So Congrats!  I can't wait to see how your 2 week post-op appointment goes.  I actually don't go back for 6 weeks.  So I wish I could say I was as good as your are about not weighing myself.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Welcome to the board!  I had surgery on the 3rd too-(hernia repair and band reposition) and I'm waiting for my 2 week appointment too.  All the ups and downs from the fluids then liquids only, then yadda yadda-it's really not worth the hassle.

I think you'll be very happy with your decision to have surgery and become healthier.
