Ok, where was I?

Thanks for all prayers and good wishes-it's been a wild and crazy week-but it got much better (for me) the minute they hit the snooze button in surgery.

Bottom line: Big hiatial hernia prolapse-with a nice chunk of stomach sitting in my throat.  Gagging on that caused small band prolapse, the least of my worries.  I was already very run down and weak and flying off to California didn't help, but it could be the last time my parents get to go and they weren't going to not get to go because of me.  So yeah, I'd do it again, but would have had surgery scheduled the day I came back.

The hiatal hernia repair turned out to be one of the least painful thngs I've ever had done, and if I could do anything again, it would have been to have fixed that forever ago.  Shame on me for being a sissy.

While doctor was in, she moved my band up (first surgeon put it down too low instead of fixing the hernia and putting it in the right place), cleaned up some scar tissue, took a look around and pronounced it all well and good.

Rested a day, got lots of good potassium in my IV (which burns like crap) and now it's just a matter of healing-liquids till wed, 7 days mushies, then so on.

I need to gain some weight and put on some muscle-never had to figure out how to do that before but it sounds like fun to me.

What's bizarre is there is no fat tissue around my lapband-so theoretically I may never even need a fill-it may be snug enough as it is-wouldn't that be a hoot?

Downside, all the well laid plans about stopping weight loss to avoid the need for plastic surgery are kinda bombed=but I'll just deal with that as it comes.  I'd need a lot more than I'm willing to pay for, so I'll probably just be happy as I am and deal with it!   Got no time for down time now-the garden is growing, the dogs need training and I have a horse who is getting a little chunky....

I am so glad you are doing so well Deb. We have missed you! You indeed have had a wild week and from the sound of it, you still have alot to do. At least you will feel like doing all on your "to do" list. Thanks for the up date so we won't worry.
