Great 1 Year Visit

I had a great 1 year post op visit with Dr Walton yesterday. I am really only 11 months but the next few weeks are crazy for me so that was what we could work out. I admitted to snacking and he was actually okay with it since they are what he called "weightwise approved" and because I really have no desire for carbs other than the ones I get naturally in fruits and vegetables. I shared that I have been basically stuck at the same weight for over a month now. He said that only 1% of people get to ideal body weight and he is fine with where I am if I am. I told him I would like to get to lose another 23 lbs but if I don't I am okay with where I am -- a vast improvement from 11 months ago! He told if I wanted to I could try by changing my exercise but told me not to change what I am eating. He suggested the VO2 testing and said I might find that I actually gain a little afterwards as I replace fat with muscle but not to get hung up on the numbers. I have considered having it done so on the way out I scheduled it for June 23rd.
Today I had one of my nurses drain me dry of blood for post op labs. LOL

I am glad your visit went well.  You are so lucky that you have no desire for carbs!  Glad you scheduled the VO2 thing.  I think you will find it helpful.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Nancy,

Congratulations on being a year out!  It's amazing how quickly a year flies by.  You have done awesome!  I had the VO2 and need to have another one, it is a very big help to me.

Wow! Can you believe it's been almost a year already, Nancy? You've done so well. Congratulations, and I know if you want to get those last 23 lbs. off, you will. The VO2 test gives you great feedback, and you'll know exactly how fast to exercise, to maximize burning those fat calories.
Blessings,
Mary

It has been the ride of my life! I was actually quite surprised tht he did not get on to me for snacking. Jess was out so she might have been a different story.
