Life is Good even though Oklahoma is OK....

Heya gang!

Well my friends, I just wanted to give a little update to tell you I'm alive and kicking and that I'm still "underjoyed" about how Oklahoma's motto is "Oklahoma is OK"....seems like a downer... Seriously...especially next to "don't mess with Texas"...  Anyway...please light a fire under Brad Henry to change that so tourism picks back up...

On another hand...  I knew I had life really good when recently I was called by a friend for help...  Yep after trying to help his mother for 3 days with a problem, this guy finally calls me....  you see, while surfing on the computer, his momma keeps getting stuck at porn sites....and he can't seem to get her off of it for long enough to check her blog or facebook or whatever she's socially networking with...  I knew that it was her laptop and not a "family" laptop...so whilst fixing this thing, I realized a new twist in cultural views....she caused the problem by surfing those sites herself....wow...  weird though I now know what she views as exciting...  oh well...I fixed the problem.... I'll try not to show up as the "pool cleaning guy" coming to help since since I now know she likes that kinda fella...hehe....

FOOD & ME.....

I have been eating like a horse recently....  like last week, i went to Puerto Rico with friends and enjoyed lots of local flavor and some kobe beef, churrasco, carnitas, and lots of fun tacos and other foods I can't get so easily in the islands....needless to say, I'm happy i don't live near Sonic, KFC, and Taco Bueno....  let's just say, I would have a "control issue".....

Living in the islands gives me some freedom from making bad food choices...fresh fruit everywhere....no doughnut stores.....hardly any fast food joints.....and people who are vegan everywhere....of course there's always the bad stuff here too....RUM...and yes, I likey....  so  have a little from time to time...or every 3rd day depending on my poker nights....  but I never gain a pound.....if only you knew the craving for tacos...I would gain again...hehe...  I guess i need to go chew on carrots again...I'm getting hungry thinking about the Krispy Kremes....thank goodness we don't have those things anywhere in the whole Caribbean...

Back to preparing for the hurricane season for me....I just wanted to say "hey" to all of those peeps who are struggling yet staying on the low carb path!  If I can do it, anyone can...  I still cook nearly everyday, and of course it's tasty and super low carb....  I keep postng nothing but the best low carb recipes that I have in the recipe forum if you get the chance to look sometime....

Take care and get skinny...(it's a lot more fun naked, i promise).....

What would be your suggestion for a new Motto for Ok? I tried to come up with something but i'm drawing a blank....maybe "Oklahoma...once you come in you can NEVER really leave" lol i guess that's not much better than just being "Ok". or How about  "If you don't like shopping at Walmart...Go somewhere else" LOL. No i'm kidding. I love my state and wouldn't change it or leave even if I could, but I am soooo looking forward to August when I get to tast a little bit of your lifestyle in the Carribbean!!

Ahh T, I have been wondering where you have been.  I myself have a slogan for Oklahoma "Once you leave you never wanna come back"  don't get me wrong I love my Oklahoma, born and raised here and currently live in a town with less than 800 people and it gets boring.  I like you am thankful though that there are no fast food places here either.  I have lived in San Diego,  "the home of the Fruits and the Nuts". The weather is so wonderful there that sometimes I find myself wanting to go back, but this is where my family is so this is where i will be.   Funny about the lady and her porn.  Almost every time I read one of your posts it makes me hungry.  Thanks for posting all of the great recipes,  I love them.  Hope the hurricanes avoid your area this season.  And I agree being naked is a lot more fun when your skinny.   Don't stay away so long next time.   Rosie

Great to hear from you T. sounds like you are going to be busy battoning down the hatches for the hurricane season. I don't envy that a bit. We do have a boring slogan for our wonderful state. Some boring politician probably thought it up. Get on your pirate thinking cap and think of a new one for us. We need it. Glad you are still staying skinny. I am getting there. Still keeping it low carb. No pasta, rice, bread, or potatoes for this girl. I need to check out some of your recipes.

Tom, good to hear from you and that you are still hanging in there.  Want to thank you for recommending the flax-z-snax.  Was REALLY weird at first(nicest way I can put it), but have developed a taste for it now and enjoy it.  I kept trying it because I realized it kept me satisfied all morning after eating it -- more than anything else I could have.   Was even more satisfying than a scrambled egg with cheese.  Thanks again for the advice.  Michael
