Surgery on Tuesday
Hello all! My surgery is on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post about the 10 day diet. Not gonna lie, days 1 & 2 were extremely hard. But I soon realized it was because I was out in the sun all day long with family at the zoo, museums, etc. It was way too much eat at once for just having been introduced to not "eating". Plus my hypoglycemia was not a fan of the change. But alas...I made it!
So, yea. Surgery is on Tuesday. The 10 day diet has been a breeze thus far (still have 1 more day!). And I've lost around 15 lbs in 10 days. Which has clearly served as motivation.
All that said, I am nervous. Not about the surgery though. About the anesthesia. Don't get my wrong. I know how it works...my mom is a nurse, she's explained everything (multiple times!!!) but I've never had surgery so I'm nervous about it coupled with the excitement of surgery has made me a wreck! I'm not sure whether to be nervous or excited. So I'm trying not to think about the anesthesia part, more about the after part.
Prayers and thoughts would be lovely and appreciated! Thanks guys!

Hi.
I understand your being nervous about the anesthesia, as I was with my first surgery. Just let the anesthesiologist know about how you're feeling, and he/she can help with that. Chances are, you won't even know anything--you'll be out before the mask gets put on you (or whatever they do). :)
Please post an update as soon as you can, after surgery. My prayers go with you for a safe, complication-free surgery and recovery. Welcome to the Losers' Bench. Be sure to sip and walk a lot, after surgery.
Blessings,
Mary

Good luck, my surgery was last week. It's been hard this week, but I haven't regretted it yet!! :)
I've had other invasive surgeries before, and this one was by far the best coming out of anesthesia. Some of the side effects from coming back can be harmful to your new pouch, so the anesthesiologists are really careful to make sure that everything goes exactly right. This was the first time I DIDN'T have any nausea, vomiting, and violent shivers for hours afterward. Granted, I was sleepy for days, but the difference was incredible. Don't worry, your surgeon and anesthesiologist will take good care of you!!
