HI EVERYONE
I AM 6 MONTHS OUT AND I AM CRAVING MY SWEETS LIKE NO OTHER!!!  I AM STARTING TO GET IN PANIC MODE AS I SURE DON'T WANT TO SEE THE SCALE GOING UP TOO MUCH.  I DID GAIN 1-2 LBS. LAST WEEKEND AS WE WENT TO THE MOUNTAINS...  I AM TRYING TO GET BACK ON TRACK, BUT ALL OF THIS PROTEIN IS STARTING TO GET BORING....
JUST HAD TO VENT.  I STILL DON'T EAT A LOT, BUT I SURE WI**** WAS LIKE THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OUT OF SURGERY...  I AM JUST STARTING TO GET A LITTLE NERVOUS..  I WOULD LOVE TO GET ANOTHER 8-10 LBS. OFF.  I WILL BE SEEING DR. BROUSSARD ON THURSDAY.  I KNOW HE IS NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY WITH MY FOODS...

Hi, Candee.
You're so close to goal. I know you'll get off those 8-10 lbs. more, like you want. Craving sweets is understandable; we've all been there. The key is not to give in to them, at least not very often. If you don't have any in the house, you're less likely to give in to those cravings. So...do a purge of your cupboards and refrigerator. Dr. B. won't fuss at you for having cravings, but if you're giving in to them more than here and there, he may take those final pounds out of your hide! ;)
This is my quote for the day: "Knowing is not enough, I must apply. Willing is not enough, I must do." I've been thinking on that all day, and it's so true. You can do this, Candee. You are not alone.
Blessings,
Mary

Make sure you are well hydrated.  When I let my liquids get too low I crave more junk than other times.  I wish I had magic words for you.  Too bad they didn't operate on my brain too!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

The real question is whether YOU are happy with your foods-sounds like you are not.  And YOU can change that-it's not sweets, or vacation who is in control-it's YOU.

I'm not even going to contemplate a life without a few sweets or swigs here and there, but I when I sense that control is slipping-I back off for awhile.  For me, the first sign I get is when I start to have anxiety about that cookie or whatever-that's a good sign maybe I should back off-and I do, until I can once more enjoy my treat!

It is very upsetting when you realize how easy it is to eat around the surgery.  Just use this fear to help get yourself back on the right path.  I am realizing now that this battle with food will be with me for the rest of my life regardless of my surgery.  But, this time I am more empowered to win the fight!!  Just realize that you do have to work this and dig in for battle!  Plan your meals, drink your water, and exercise!  And of course stay away from sweets!  They just make us crave more of the same.
