Imagine....how heavy a 50 pound bag of dog food is!!!
In case some of you are dissappointed that early on you have "only" lost 50 pounds...go pick up one of those 50 pound bags of dog food and it will be quite the eye opener!! It was an amazing comparison for me. I told my daughter and I nearly cried at the thought of how different things are for me since a little over a year ago.
In the event you are still deciding on what to do as far as weight loss surgery. I would say...go for it!!! It was certainly a life changing event for me. My health is back and I feel soooo much better!!!
I have thought the same thing when I have a child on each hip! (I can do that now, because I have a hip!) LOL!
At one time my girlfriends whole family weighed less then I did. She weighed 110, her little one weighed about 60 and her oldest weighed 80 lbs! Their total weight combined was less then my own weight! I weighed more then a whole family!
I'm down 71 lbs today and I couldn't be happier! I had my vacation last week and I enjoyed shopping for clothes! I had so much fun. I catch myself shopping in the plus sizes only to try them on and they are too big! Yippy! I did hiked and had so much fun! I would have done more hiking only it rained EVERY day we were there!
Thanks for your "dog" food for thought! LOL!
Happy Hump Day!

Deb,
Isn't it funny how quickly we forget? I was carrying around my back pack last night with my computer and all my work files and stuff - probably around 30 pounds or so - and it was wearing me out! Once I finally put that monster down, I realized - I used to be carrying 5 or more of those with me EVERYWHERE!! Good grief...
It is amazing the changes that come with this journey... Keep up the great work!

I move big bags of feed all the time-and I DO remember a time when I could toss a 40 pound bag on each shoulder and load it into the hopper. Now, I can't get one 40 pound bag up on the same shoulder that used to carry about 3 of those in fat, for many many years.
I still can't figure out in my head WHY I could carry all that weight, and I can't carry the dog food bag. It's a mystery that I'm glad to be on this side of.
Edited to add: No one needs to help solve the mystery with the factor of "age". Leave me in the dark people, I'm happy here.
