Gas Bubbles are killing me! Please Help

So I had my VGS done on Wed and over all I really good, (at this point I really don't feel any different).  But the gas bubbles are killing me no matter how small my sips are or how big it feels like they get trapped and all I can do is move around like a idiot to get the to come up.  Is this normal and does anyone have ideas how to get rid of them?

Thanks Tiffine

Hi.
I'm sorry you're feeling this, but it's normal. I took GasX strips regularly (as often as the directions allowed), and I had much fewer gas issues. Walking a bit every 15 minutes will help, too. Hang in there.
Blessings,
Mary

The Gas-X strips helped some but not me.  I found that a heating pad on my belly helped a lot.  Make sure you are walking as much as possible.  That helps work the gas out of your body.  Hang in there- it is all worth the pain and discomfort in the end!

WALK and WALK some more! I would advice you not to put a heating pad on your tummy..sorry Happy Cat. the reason..from experience you have had your body opened even if its just some small holes those holes re not healed up and the heat can cause the bad bacteria on your body to grow and creep into the holes and wolla you now have an infection....I did that..and that infection cost me over 2500.00 in antibiotics to get rid of.
the other thing is to try this...take the medicine cup from like nyquil and drink out of it...its like an ounce and that will help. PLUS no drinking from straws....
good luck
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Hi tiffmonty428,

I had my surgery on Wednesday too, with Dr. Broussard.  I think you were in the room next to mine.  I walked by and said hello, buy I think you were on your cell phone.

I had the same feeling like it hurts when the water or drink is going down.  Standing up and walking is what I have done and it seems better.  I'm sure this will pass in time for both of us.  I've had nausea and I'm taking the jell for that the doc prescribed for me.   It really helps.  Did the doctor prescribe to you acid reflux medicine?  That might help. Remember Dr. B said we could call him anytime. Don't hesitate to call him.

Hope you feel better.

For me the best thing I did was to drink out of a Nyquil sized cup.  It seemed that for me and my Aunt also, no matter what we did, we drank to much and would suffer from it.  When I switched to sipping from a small cup it helped tremendously.  Walking and the Gas-X strips will also help.  It does get better with time.  Hang in there, you're on the ride of your life!!
