diarrhea/abdominal pain/bowel incontinence

I really need some help/advice.  I am 5 months post gastric bypass.  2 wks ago I woke with diarrhea that was literally like "butt pee."  It is very forceful and foul/sick smelling.  I have had 4 bouts of bowel incontinence, soiling myself each time.  No matter if I drink, even water or eat, which I am not doing much of it causes diarrhea.
I went to urgent care, had stool samples for ova and parasites, shigella, e-coli, salmonella and giardia.  All came back negative.  Blood work (chem 8) was unremarkable.  I saw the doctor that has been seeing me post surgery (associated with the surgeon) and he referred me to a gastroenterologist.  When I asked what this could be he would not offer any advice.  He would not tell me if he felt it could be malabsorption even though I am 5 months out.  I have not changed any meds, same vitamins since the day after surgery, same protein drinks (brand) for 5 months and have not done an increase in volume or type of food.  I also passed out Monday while fixing dinner.  The doctor suggested I put a chair in the kitchen while working.  Weight loss has all but diminished as well-I have lost 54 pounds with no weight loss in 3 1/2 weeks.
I am at a total loss here.  I am frighted and did not get a"warm fuzzy" feeling at all from the doctor.
Any advice?  Anybody?

I don't know where your located, but here in Lawton/Ft Sill there is a wicked nasty stomach thing going around. It have gone thru our house atleast 5X in the last month. Everyone has had it, and currently the baby & my daughter have it.
I hope you find the answer and feel better soon.

For three weeks I have had a headache, dizzy spells, looow blood pressure, the feeling of going to pass out and a rush of hot feeling...I wa told it was my blood glucose then when I was tested for that it came back normal..was tested for about 5 other things and they finally said my iron level was low and had me go onto an iron supplement which after 5 days all the symptms have gone away ecxept a dizzy spell once in ahile which is due to low protein.
Go back to the doctor and demand answers..if you feel he cant help find another one

I'm having similar issues.  I may go 2-3 days without a BM, then have a few, then have the same watery diarrhea for 24 hours.  Dr. Walton has asked me to keep a journal of all food going in and poop coming out in the hopes that he can spot what may be causing it.  Funny thing is that I gain weight when I am not going but when the dam bursts, I lose a ton all at once.

My next appointment is a week from tomorrow so maybe I'll know more then.

Good luck with your issues!

Hi.
Although this probably wouldn't explain the dizzy spell, I wonder if you may be lactose intolerant. Try cutting out all milk and dairy, and see if that doesn't solve the diarrhea, etc. If not, it's probably a bug. Hang in there, but do be assertive with your doctor.
Blessings,
Mary

This is interesting to me because since surgery, all I really have now is diarrhea.  (almost never all solid)  I have told Dr. Walton this every time I've seen him and he never comments.  I always had issues with "attacks" prior to surgery so I'm not all that freaked out but I think it's time I sought out a gastro guy and had it checked out.  Seems to me like we may be losing too much fluid this way.

Keep me posted - I would like to know how you are doing.

I wouldn't worry too much about the stall.  They are very common and probably unrelated!
