Environmental like in the form of smog and stuff...no it's not a huge deal.  In the summer you'll see on the news when we have Ozone Alerts, when they tell you to not fill your car during daylight hours, don't mow your grass, those kind of things.  Pollen related allergies...well I had to tell you this but chances are you are going to have issues.  Your body is going to have to get used to the different trees and weeds we have here.  After the first year you should be okay.  I know I had issues when I moved here even though I'd never been allergy prone, and when we moved to eastern Missouri my husband who is a native Okie had issues.  When I go to Colorado on business for more than 2 days I start having problems.

I think it is safe to say the if you have allergy issues in NJ, you will definitely have them in OK -- some of the same and maybe even others. Cottonwood is a big one here - you might even think it is snowing when all the cottonwood is flying around!

I moved to Ok from near Houston. I had seasonal asthma and horrible allergies. As soon as I got here it was all gone. I never have to take the claritin I lived on back home.

I've been an Okie all my life and I don't really have too many problems with allergies but I have heard mixed reviews from other folks who migrate in. I don't think you'll have any issues untill at least next spring, unless you have a mold allergy. We've had so much rain this spring that i'm afraid mold is gonna be high unill it starts to get really hot.
